  1. what happened that night was that someone got stomped on...bad. i don't think it was a bouncer. so the cops showed up b/c of that, then something happened btwn some girl and one of the cops. i think she toosed a drink at him. so she gets locked up and the cops made them close early.
  2. just got dsl at work. can anyone recommend some good free web radio sites for house/trance?
  3. is that every night (thur, fri, sat) that they play hip hop? i wanted to check it out, but will pass if it's hip hop every night. too bad, i heard it looks really nice in there.
  4. went to tequila joe's for the first time since it reopened. they did a little work on the place, nothing crazy. overall it looks nicer than before. too bad the dj was skating all night. he played some good tracks early on, then dropped some cheese later. there was also no vibe in there whatsoever. i heard the old dj, sykopath, will be there on thanksgiving eve...hopefully that night will have a better vibe than last fri.
  5. the heights is alright depending on where you are, but downtown is where you want to be. newport's all good also. there's a couple nice bars downtown and newport has south city, along w/ a few bars.
  6. definitely that tempts closing party in '98. also miss PVD at twilo
  7. you're all right about those two summers, 98 and 99. by far my best time down the shore. i still don't think i've had a better time out then the temps closing party (labor day sunday) in 98. nothing has even come close to that kind of energy and vibe. regarding the city...i do miss jp @ factory and those few nights i went to world for tsettos.
  8. I haven't been out in awhile (or on this site for that matter) and was just wondering what's up w/ exit? I know it was closed. Does anyone know if and when it might reopen?
  9. PVD blew me away last year at Twilo. However, Mauro Picotto's set at Twilo in December was the best I've ever experienced.
  10. Sometimes I feel down, sometimes I don't. It might depend on the hit or how much you take. Or if there are other things in your life that would naturally cause depression, e or no e. As long as you don't trip every weekend, you shouldn't get severely depresssed. I roll maybe every 4-6 weeks. It's not like I fiend for it though if I go longer than six weeks. I have friends that trip only twice a year. Don't get me wrong, I spent two summers tripping almost every weekend, but I never got severly depressed. I'm almost sure the following is true (I'm not a dr. or anything). The depression is caused by your brain overloading with serotonin when you trip. So after tripping, your serotonin levels are low. Supposedly, it takes about two weeks for your brain to get serotonin levels back to normal.
  11. While I do love hard house, hard acid trance is what is my favorite style. Just about anything on Stay Up Forever, VCR/VCF, or Tracid will do. [This message has been edited by mremz1 (edited 04-24-2001).]
  12. Excellent...I've missed Cream the last few weeks (due to uncontrollable circumstances), but I think I'm down for this thursday party. Sweeeeet!!
  13. I personally have had no problem, at Twilo anyway. I think it depends on the individual bouncer-of course you'll have some assholes, and you'll have some that are cool. Also, remember the pressure from the mayor on club management. Don't get me wrong, it's no reason to act unprofessional, but the situation is what it is, unfortunately.
