It's a Good Time to be a Bad Boy if You're Looking for Love The AXE/Bolt.com Study Offers Guys a Roadmap to Mating Success NEW YORK, December 9 — In an effort to help guys get back on the road to mating success, AXE deodorant bodyspray partnered with Bolt.com to survey guys and girls nationwide to get the lowdown on the mating metropolis with some “must have†insights. Now it’s up to guys to find out their true potential with the ladies: Dating/Hooking-up — It’s all about getting the girl, anywhere, anytime: • More than 90 percent of women have hooked up with more than one guy in a night. • 20 percent of girls and guys say they’ve met a person they’ve eventually gone out with more than once at church. Amazingly, only 12 percent could say the same for the beach. • Girl power is greater than ever. Nearly two-thirds of women have asked a guy out. Seems the ladies are growing impatient with timid guys. • 64 percent of girls encourage fooling around in a place where they can get caught while 83 percent of guys are encouraging their girls to strip for them. • Even though a girl might ask a guy out and even pay, she’s less likely to take the next step. 30 percent of girls will never contact a guy after the first romantic move. · 92 percent of guys said they’re down with showing both their manly and sensitive sides around girls. · The Girl Next Door, followed by the Rocker Chick, are the two types of girls guys are most interested in dating (38 percent and 14 percent). · The Big-Hearted Bad Boys and the Boy Next Door are the two types of guys girls are most interested in dating (36 percent and 22 percent). · 92 percent of girls said they find it flattering when a guy “checks me out.†· 82 percent of girls said the most frequently used method of asking guys out is face-to-face, 47 percent said it was through a friend and 29 percent said instant messaging. • The number one thing guys and girls look for in a honey is sense of humor (82 percent). • 78 percent of guys and girls think sex too soon is a recipe for disaster. • 96 percent of guys (compared to 71 percent of girls) say they make the first contact after a date. • 63 percent of guys are likely to make contact within a day of a first encounter (35 percent) for girls. • Almost three out of four (73 percent) people say they are comfortable dating someone of a different ethnicity. Technology — Not just for geeks anymore: • 91 percent of 18-24 year olds are into sexy behavior that includes online make-out sessions with naughty messages to their crushes. • Nearly 80 percent of men think online dating is an acceptable way to meet women. 20 percent are actually members of an online dating community. • More than 50 percent of guys are using technology, like instant messaging, to pursue girls while avoiding any awkward face-to-face situations. • 61 percent of women are using technology to separate the dudes from the duds with such features as caller ID and *69. 79 percent of the ladies say they have blocked or not answered an IM. • More than one-third of the people who make contact within a day after the first date use IM (38 percent) and email (37 percent) to make contact. • 81 percent of guys and 73 percent of girls think sending sexy email is okay for their honey to do. • 15 percent of people have dropped off an online dating site to avoid a particular person. • The number one complaint (61 percent) about online dating was the inability to know if the person people are chatting with online is being straight-up about their age, looks, etc. Grooming — It’s not just the ladies that have to keep up appearances: • Beyond showering, hair primping and applying make-up, 58 percent of girls are grooming their private parts before a date. Meanwhile, only 29 percent of guys are grooming down below. • The biggest complaint girls have about a guy’s grooming habits is bad breath (46 percent) while 25 percent complained of nasty BO. • 39 percent of guys said they used deodorant bodyspray when getting ready for a date or night out. • 2 percent of guys actually admitted to stuffing their pants while 5 percent of girls admitted to wearing falsies. • 86 percent of women are attracted to a guy’s smell. • 39 percent of guys say that “way too much stress is put on how guys dress these days.†• 1 percent of guys actually admitted to using an ab sculpting cream while 3 percent of women admitted to using cellulite cream. • 32 percent of girls complain that they have dated a guy who was a sloppy dresser while an equal number (31 percent) complained that a guy was too obsessed with his looks. Girls as Aggressors in the Dating Game — These women know what they want: • 75 percent of girl aggressors have dated a guy “just because†they were hot, both naughty and nice, rebellious and broke all the rules, popular, had a cool car or had money. • Twice as many girl aggressors in contrast to other girls say they are “taken and like it that way.†• 84 percent of girl aggressors have complaints about the grooming habits of guys they’ve dated (compared to 68 percent of non-aggressors). Fun Facts: · Two-thirds of guys have flattered a girl when they didn’t really mean it, and one-third of guys have stretched the truth about certain facts to get girls more interested in them. · Two-thirds (65 percent) of guys wish they could get more sex, but a whopping 70 percent say they want more romance. • 42 percent of girls say they wish they could get more sex, while, as expected, 79 percent say they want more romance. • Sex in the shower is the number one fantasy for both guys and girls. · What are the things that attract you to a guy? o 91 percent of girls said eyes o 86 percent of girls said smell/scent o 83 percent of girls said face § So girls care more about how a guy smells than what his face looks like "The dating game is a mind field, says Esther Lem, AXE.
