Well, if you're gonna be technical about it.

I take a cab usually when I go out to a club, but for more mundane ventures I take the bus.
-
I got a better deal for you, drive past downtown...save 20$
Now why would we want to do that? All the cool kids go Downtown these days.
-
you driving now days?
Nope, but I've been witness to it working plenty of times.
Either that or give Pops $5 to wash your car and he'll watch over it.
-
The Omni lot is closed after a certain time.
Parking downtown is $10 on "off" days and $20 on "on" weekends such as the one coming up.
Little secret, the lots further out, you can sometimes negotiate.
-
On average, fests are $50-$80 these days. Hell, when we did GG in Europe a few weeks ago it was £60 or so per day I think.

Welcome to a free market economy.

There's a minor issue with the server that our tech staff is dealing with.
It has only been a few hours though, not a few days.

All the time. Going out in groups is a pain in the ass. Generally wherever I go, my friends are there at some point anyway.

I wasn't attempting to be funny. I was stating a fact.
-
Well like it or not, what you did post was dramatic, hence drama. Makes sense, huh?
-
Easy dodge, easy dodge. You threaten me, and then turn it around with a weak attempt at a joke.
-
Persistent little bugger, aren't ya?
I dare you to smash a bottle over my head in person.
-
You know it's true.
I get a big kick out of the fact though. I'm important enough to be made fun of by people I don't even know.
-
Yeah I knew that. I use Firefox exclusively, so pop-up Jedi mind tricks have no effect on me ... I didn't see the mistake until I opened up the page in Internot Exploder.
Still, in general I see a lot of people grouse about the ads, and was just stating my take on the matter.
You know me, no one likes me on this side of the house so I have no issues "telling it like it is..."

Well it is where the scene is going. With the suburbanization and condo-ization of South Beach, inevitably, a 2 AM closing time will be enforced, leaving the real nightlife to Downtown Miami.
Already, there are proposals on the board to expand the district a block or two west, to counter the inevitable round of investors and clubowners fleeing the ever-restrictive regulations that the Miami Beach government seemingly likes to put in place at random.
Nightlife is the golden goose of Miami Beach, but now that the condos and the chain stores have moved in and gotten settled, the nightlife industry isn't as important to Miami Beach as it once was.
Pioneers like Space, Goldrush, and as of late, Twilo, thought ahead and have entrenched themselves in the area. Like anywhere, there are problems, but as the City steps up enforcement and gradually improves the area, these will go away.

Not for nothing, kids, but without ads, this site wouldn't exist, or would be relegated to some sl******* server with even more ads.
Can't have it both ways.

Usually in most places the drinks in a VIP section will be a bit higher than in the normal section, unless the bar is "shared", which in that case they should serve you at the same rate.
-
Switch to Firefox. You didn't hear that from me, though

The beach has gone ghetto recently, yes, but it really isn't like a warzone like some of you guys are making it out to be.
The simple fact of the matter is that like with anything, you have to play it smart. Don't walk around in a drunken stupor and act all "touristy" and aggressive. These punks are criminals of opportunity, and will not take the time of day to harass someone who knows how to handle themselves in any given situation.
Am I suggesting a proactive approach? Not really, if you don't know how to do that properly, it creates more problems than it solves. Just be smart, and don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff.
There's still a few dance-oriented parties fighting for attention on the beach. Grant it, it may not be cutting-edge, and if it is, it's relegated to places with AM-radio sound systems and non-existent lighting rigs, but there still is dance music on the beach. If you want the full monty, you gotta go downtown, and again, conduct yourself accordingly and you won't be bothered. Don't go total aggro-racist on the bums, just move like you have a purpose in life other than bitching and moaning on a messageboard (in other words, stop being a pansy), and go to your destination. Problem solved.
It happens in any urban community. I've gone to venues all over, and the best ones always are in the shadiest neighborhoods. Establish yourself (or yourselves) on the pavement, get to the door, pay your cover (or bullshit the doorman if you think you're important) and go in.
End of story.

I just acquired a Canon 30D body about 2 months ago to replace my 10D which had a failed shutter. I clocked in 125,000 actuations on that unit, so it was well beyond it's spec of 75,000.
A few lenses of varying age round out the kit.
You visiting soon?

http://www.sae.edu/ is one, too.
The University of Miami has the top audio engineering program in the country right now, as well.
I wasn't an audio engineering student there, but one of my best friends was, and now he's quite successful in the industry.
