  1. Hey, I posted a thread earlier wondering the same thing, my best friend from L.A. is coming to town to party that same night. David Morales and Pete Tong will be spinning at Crobar that night. As far as I know right now, Pete Tong is the biggest "superstar" DJ playing that night. He normally opens for bigger DJ's and hosts a great dance radio show on Radio 1 in the UK. He's not quite up there with Sasha or Deep Dish, but I've heard some live sets of his and he's actually pretty good.

I'm still trying to find other options, but my friend hasn't been to Crobar since it opened, so we'll probably be there.

  2. Our tastes range from Deep Dish & Sander to Meat Katie and Infusion...my friend is actually a DJ first in Vegas now in L.A., but he's from here...we're actually trying to see if Jason Jollins is spinning anywhere as well, Jason used to spin at my friend's house parties back in 1999-2000 at Rutgers U. I think he's friendly with Serge Devant as well.

I've been to Sullivan Room a couple of times and really liked the music there.

Although we don't hate them I'd say we're into PVD, Tiesto, etc. the least (although we do like PVD shows)

  3. Yeah, I can't wait for Independance...I saw PVD, Sasha, Junkie XL, etc. at the Coliseum for New Year's 2002, I really liked that venue.

I found out some more events... there's a possible yacht party Sunday afternoon (I saw Lee Burridge on one last summer), but it's not definite as far as I know. If there's no yacht, we'll probably do Larchmont afterhours, then rest up before Sharam!!!!! of Deep Dish spins at the Factory (never been there) into Monday morning. Then rest, and I believe a San Francisco DJ named Garth is playing Monday Night Social. I have to cram weeks of partying into a few days. I think I'm up for the challenge.

  4. I'll be visiting my favorite coast Friday July 1st - Wed, July 6th

Can anyone fill in what parties/DJ's will be playing then?

So far my agenda includes IndepenDance on Sat, 7/2, followed most likely by GIANT 1-year anniversary.

Anyone know who's spinning at Monday Night Social July 4th or any other parties??

    Much thanks

    I love L.A.

  5. Hey thanks a lot...

He actually just told me about Burridge & Zabiela, but he hadn't mentioned any other places other than Las Palmas on Monday nights?

Can't wait to rock out West Coast style.....

  6. What's up L.A.?!!

Question for you Weyes...I'm from the NYC area and I'm coming out July 15th-28th to experience L.A. (I've actually been twice, but once was a day thing seeing the sights, the other was just for the GIANT party at the Coliseum for New Year's 2001-02). I'll finally get to see the nightlife now.

My friend that I'm staying with just moved to the city about 3-4 months ago...he's a Vegas house & breaks DJ who's getting into the scene...I wanted to check out the San Diego nightlife while I'm there, but he's against it, saying that they'll be too much traffic to get there, and it's more of a fraternity/sorority-esque scene...I might be able to get him to cave in if I bring enough pork roll from the East Coast (apparently there isn't any out west).....what's your take on the situation....is it worth the drive down?

Ultimately, my friend and the group he hangs out with will want to go where they want to go, but I just wanted some outside suggestions...I'm not necessarily into the whole tourist thing either...I'm more about the music, (Sasha, Deep Dish, Lee Burridge, James Lavelle, etc.)...and I was raised on hip-hop.....

    ....thanks a lot!!!

  7. Definitely pick up a guidebook to help you....

Many of the churches in Italy and Spain require you to have your knees covered to enter, so make sure you have them handy

As far as shopping goes, there's a lot of good shopping along this one street (Via....something, I forget the name), but it leads from the piazza that has the monument for Vittorio Emmanuel II (a huge, gaudy monstrosity - you can't miss it) and connects to another piazza with a big Egyptian obelisk in it.

As far as clubs, babybutt hit the nail on the head for the nightlife. I have seen however that Deep Dish as well as some other big name DJ's spin at this place called Goa - although I don't know what it's like or what it's address is...

Rome is my personal favorite city in Italy....amazing blend of modern and ancient.....I'm def. jealous.

  8. Anybody know how much tickets are? Or roughly when they go on? I know they have their man Dean Coleman opening up for them...this will be my first time at Crobar since they opened, and I was under the impression I don't have to wear dress shoes - please tell me this is true because I've been waiting a long time for these guys to come back around and I plan on doing a lot of dancing.

    Fuck yeah!!!

  9. Hey guys

Just wanted to spread the word that my friend Anthony Mazeika will be spinning at Platinum while he's in town, from 11-1AM I believe. Anthony graduated from Rutgers in 2000 and moved to Vegas shortly after and has been doing well DJing out there, playing a lot of the big places. This is the first time he's been back on the east coast and he's psyched to get a chance to play in the area.

If anybody on this board was partying at RU in 99-00, Anthony's house on Morrell St. had some crazy parties there, many of them with Jason Jollins spinning...

    His website is www.djmazeika.com

    Check him out! Thanks!!!

  10. What up ya'all

Me and a bunch of friends with November birthdays are planning a party on a Friday the 21st, and we're starting to call around and find out about venues, prices for 2-3 hours of open bar, VIP sections, etc. Music has got to be good house or trance, some hip-hop is OK too. I'll throw out some names we've been looking into and if anybody has any experience with them, your 50 cents would be much appreciated...

    Tapis Rouge

    Suede

    Metro 53

    Sutton Place

    Gemini Lounge

    Naked Lunch

    Many Thanks.......

  11. whoa!!

Is there a saying that everything good comes in 3's? If not then there should be...

Which one are you diva? You know, in case I ever run into you among the million of people in NYC/Philly?

I knew I should have gone to Myrtle Beach last week!! :D

  12. I would find a back-up place for spring break if I were you...Ibiza goes off during the summer beginning in June and ending in September. There are people there in March & April and some clubs are open, but it's not anywhere near what it is in the summer. I'm assuming you want to experience some of the nuttiness that goes on there, and summer is the time to do it.

Have fun in Myrtle Beach...send us a picture of you and your girls when you get back...:flame:

  13. When I get down there, me and my friends go out in Old City most of the time...I love hip-hop too, so I've had some good nights at 5-Spot...Envy is OK, we love Soma and Lucy's....recently I've been to McFadden's, and I've been to Finnegan's Wake a million times...I'm not into the band scene as much (Big Orange Cone is the same as Steamroller Picnic to me), but they can be pretty fun somtimes...

...on the clubbier side, I think I've really only been to Transit to see Deep Dish, but I liked it a lot...oh yeah, I've been to Evolution once too.

I live right near Rutgers University, so it's nice, I can split my time between NYC and Philly...although both are going to seem tame the next time I go out, considering I just got back from Ibiza....girl, you need to put that on your calander for next summer....
