  1. Yes - that's NYDay, not NYEve. Notice that NYE is on a Friday, which means that budget partiers like us are in luck. I agree with exit24 - Stay in with friends on Friday night, and then go to any of a number of parties on Saturday night, which, after all, is the best night to party. All the trash will be home moaning with hangovers, and you have your pick of the best DJ's - Rauhoffer at Roxy, Danny Krivit (of Body & Soul fame) at Deep, etc. Every year, the crooked nightlife industry tries to make you feel like a loser if you don't go out and dump $500. Don't fall for it. Party hard (and cheap) on Saturday instead.
  2. With NYC nightlife as pathetic as it's been the last few years, why would anyone want to reward this rotten industry by forking over $150 so you can be jostled all night and get cheap booze spilled on your best outfit? Clubbers of the world, UNITE! Organize house parties in the outer boroughs, go out to more affordable after-hours parties after all the mayhem dies down. But don't - DON'T - do something you'll regret by flushing hard-earned money down the toilet! Most of you reading this are wage slaves like myself. Ask yourself - how was it last year? Was it worth it? Let's be honest now, it won't be any better this year. IKON? Crobar? Fuggedaboudit! There are cheaper ways to get treated like cattle.
  3. I hope I don't sound selfish and snobby, but on a website like this, which asks its visitors to "get out of their mom's basement," we probably shouldn't be advertising the very coolest monthly party currently happening in NY. Imagine if the boat ride had been filled with a bunch of 19-year olds from Bayonne? If this sounds harsh, so be it. But the state of club land right now is a little like that scene from Schindler's List where the two kids don't want to share their hiding space in the latrine. We live in desperate times, and Danny Krivit is a true underground treasure. Let's guard him with our lives from mom's basement dwellers!!!
  4. Being high at work truly is a blessing. Especially those of us at "law" firms. Have you guys seen the Village Voice cover story "Conservatives on Dope"? If everyone here took a minute to email their Congressperson to wake up and legalize it (just like your taking several minutes to post these Friday-stoned-at-work pleasantries), it might actually happen! I know it sounds impossible, but if JUST ENOUGH people make JUST ENOUGH noise, they'll have to listen - its' their job! We stoners might even be the majority - we won't know until we ALL speak up!
