  1. True that, in fact i danced to Mike @ Bad Boy Bill in my Caffiene's and had a great timee.......but i think ROXY and Centro pretty much eliminating their dress codes earlier this year was the end of the line though..........Of course there is the right time for everything, but to clubs money is everything, and they get the most money by turning away no one over 21,18,16(or whatever the age is), no matter how they are dressed or wether they even know the DJ's name who is spinning. Everyone hates on EXIT, including me (at times)......but if we looked at the paperwork, i EXIT is making more money than ANY CLUB in NYC. Why would they change anything (Isn't it like a $10 fee on the ATM?)???? I am pretty sure no one can name on promoter or club who honestly cares more about the people than the money.......
  2. AMEN! CODICA! People need to realize the dress code is a thing OF THE PAST......in better words, a failed experiment. BE YOURSELF!
  3. (I'll stay away from the name calling here) no shit its electro...... fischerspooner is a joke...... their album tanked, and they got the dubious honor of actually sinking a label with one album....lol.....quite some talent there, eh? if you want real electro(i dont see why) hit up luxx, dont listen to that garbage.......
  4. ok whatever BT's needle skipped 3 times and he destroyed one mix with a scratch. "pots and pans"????? Yeah, you saying you like when BT dropped "emerge". That says alot about 1) your taste in DJ's 2) your taste in music. Hard House is for those of us that didnt get into the scene 10 minutes ago. SOE ripped me off. This shit was $55. ULTRA 4 was $50. Think about it for a second, glad you had a good time though, i guess there is a sucker born every minute.
  5. No, that was bam bam, my gf knows him from Chicago, and we had a conversation with him while he was waiting to go on in the beer tent. He was pretty pissed because SOE was not even letting him know what time or how long he would spin. Then we watched him spin for a while.........It wuz him in the beer tent 4 sure
  6. BOO was a fucking $10 party that I paid $55 bucks for. Canceling the Main Stage WITHOUT telling anyone, and then putting the DJ's anywhere they want WITHOUT telling anyone was fucked up. I mean DJ Bam Bam spining in the beer tent? WTF? My clock radio speaker is more clear and louder than that beer tent was. Donald Glaude's Set Was SUB-PAR at best. It lacked his usual energy and funk which I have come to expect from him over the years. Feelgood was horrible, he stuck with all that centro-fly light house shit. BT was a DISASTER!!! What was it? 4 needle skips in a one hour set? He should stick with the live PA's like everyone says. I will give it to Doc Martin though, awesome set, and i missed saeed and palash, but i heard they were great. The Mud was a pain, but nothin can be done about that. EVERYONE was smoking dust! Why the fuck are people doing this shit? Just smoke pot damnit, people think they are so hard in the Dip-And-Bass tent, when they just look like crackheads. The rides and decorations were useless, cut 10 or 20 dollars off the price of a ticket and leave that shit out next time. They should just make rain dates and not do this rain or shine shit again.
  7. Hmmmm..... this guy just came on the air here in NYC, and i guess he has been on for 10 years in LA? It has been a pretty bad reception, i guess because everyone loved the show he replaced. What is his story? Is he big in LA?
  8. Just saw them here in NYC at the ROXY last week, and they were sick. They are both Hard House DJ's, and BBB tends to be a little funkier than tall paul. Tall Paul started as a Hard house DJ 15 years ago, but got into that anthem trance shit over the last couple of years, after last thursday though, it looks like he is going back to his roots. They both do 2 hours. It will be one of your local DJ's opening, followed by about 1.5 hours of Steve Smooth, who is BBB's protoge, and tends to be a little more Soulful house than funky, but can still rock the hard beats. Then BBB will come on for about 1.5 to 2 hours....It is high energy, and he will always rock the place......I have seen him 37 times in my life (now 38), and this was a top 10 set. Tall Paul will close out the night, starting with hard house, then finishing up with some trance.......It was only $15 here in NYC, and it was worth every penny.
  9. On Tiesto : Read the front page of this website CP: I’d say your style used to be more trancey, do you agree? T: I think it’s more obvious that I’m breaking away from trance. I was playing a lot more ambient but now I have started a new beginning. I believe “Flight 643†was my breaking period for that, its not just trancy but is techy. There’s even a dub of it with Kosheen’s, “Hide U.†And as for DT, i am not talking about punters, I am talking about DJ's.....He is called "The Dj's DJ", he has stuck to his roots for over 20 years, and his party @ WMC is the only one ALL the DJ's go to and dance their asses off for 22 hours straight. Who is more respected?????? MAYBE Frankie Knuckles, but I dont think so, and Larry is Dead, so possibly Timmy Regisford....but I HIGHLY doubt it. Face it.....trance wont die, i dont even want it to........but it was a phase......
  10. Hmmmmm? Why is Tiesto a mostly house DJ now? Why is Danny Tenaglia THE MOST repsected DJ in the industry without a doubt? Why is trance the only genre that is acceptable to bash? BECAUSE TRANCE IS SIMPLE, EASY, BORING, AND HAS NO VIBE OR SOUL. MOST OF IT IS CHEESE THAT CAN BE MADE ON A HOME COMPUTER. Trance is for people that cant feel a beat or groove....it consists mostly of synths bells and whistles. Trance had its day, but it is dying now.......I think WMC 2002 proved this.......MOST "trance" DJ's peaked their sets with house or breaks tracks. Trance can be a part of the scene, but trying to get promoters to book more trance dj's would be like upgrading from a color to a black and white tv.
  11. Who wrote the extremely famous phrase, "A shark on whiskey is mighty risky. A shark on beer is a beer engineer"?
  12. I will be there If you liked BBB at Ultra 4, his set will be so much better on thursday night. He plays MUCH better in clubs than he does at raves, they give him more time. I was a little dissapointed in him at ULTRA, and BOO 6 as well.......although the best i set i ever seen by hime was in 98 at a rave in San Antonio........he used to be more hard.....ANYWAY.....HE WILL blow the roof off of the roxy........When he dropped the Moouse T. Remix at BUZZ@NAtion, the place fell apart......
  13. Hey Dave: #1) Two places on this website list different door times for the party......one says 10pm, one says 11pm, which is right? #2) Why is there a $4 shipping charge if they are will call onlY?
  14. C.I.D. (Military investigators) is harsh, you cant fuck with them, ask anyone thats been in the service, and they will tell you..........they fuckin follow you to the clubs from the base, watch you dance all night, tap your phone calls......you can never win against them......
  15. Come up to NYC! You all are more than welcome here!!!! Infact, check out http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0238/romano.php , they are making it easier to throw parties up here!!!!! Buzz @ Limelight? They both look kinda similar inside
  16. sorry maybe 11/2 then..........told this by someone at arc.....not by PVD himself.........
