  1. One of the best breakbeat DJs EVER. Ive been seeing him in Seattle, where im from, for almost 6 years and he just rules each and every time. Im definitely there with as much energy as I can bring.
  2. Well, I myself would like to NOT spend the 125 for this and rather use it to get tanked for a lot less, but other cirumstances have prevented that from happening. So, can anyone give me an idea of what to expect from this place? What kind of attire is it going to be? I was planning on wearing a suit, but if I can go a *tad* more casual, that would be just as good. And if anyone is going to be attending, let me know so we can all get hammered together!
  3. Should we dust off our cards so it feels like it used to?
  4. And will the card work at all for Sandra this friday? Email me or post a reply so I can know. Thanks! ET31999@aol.com
  5. I know who he is and everything..but what other tracks of should i take a listen to off of Audiogalaxy.. just to hear more of his work..other than Overdrive.
  6. What kinda of work do you do? Im interning at Tapehouse Toons on 44th St. I'm not an animator, but just do random stuff there. Would like to hear about what you've worked on. And congrats, hope you enjoy it.
  7. Atlantis is great, but verrrrry expensive. So be sure to have all your credit cards, travelers checks, and cash to pay for the ridiculous prices they charge you. Other than that, it's the shit, and a very cool place to hang out around.
  8. It's an awesome place, but like ghost said, it can get very expensive. Buses are $1 until 7, then it's $4 a head to get anywhere else by taxi. If you don't have alot of people with, expect to shell out $15-25 depending on where you stay. For hotels, I stayed at a hole in the wall called the Sun Fun. It's cheap, but horrible. The Marriot is nice, and there's a bunch in the downtown area, but I don't know any names. If you go with a tour group, there's also a wristband package for $100 where you can get into the 3 'big' clubs down there and also drink for an hour (rum punch) for free. After suckin down 8 of them, you won't need to buy more.. well.. maybe. Anyway, the three clubs are Zoo, Waterloo, and Cocktails and Dreams. Waterloo was the most fun, mostly Top 40 dance and hip hop, an 80's room, and it's pretty fun place. Zoo is alright, but lot's of sketchy people there. Cocktails is good too, having contests most of the time, wet t-shirt and the like. If you want any other info, i'll answer as best as i can. Enjoy your vacation.
  9. Waiter at Griswolds Pub in Bay Ridge Production Assistant at an animation studio in the city. We just worked on the TV Funhouse that aired last saturday night on SNL. It wasn't funny at all, but fuck it, i got a TV credit
  10. i'm a junior cartooning major at School of Visual Arts.
  11. What are the most valid and legit reasons to tell friends not to go there? Some friends of mine want to take some people there from out of town, and i'm trying to tell them otherwise to no avail. Any suggestions?
  12. Actually Ben Affleck is going to play Daredevil.. should have gotten Damon to play instead in my opinion. And yes, Daredevil does indeed rock.
  13. Spider-Man... no one comes close.
  14. i have to agree, it is a pretty good space for a sat night party. good music and good energy. definitely check it out if you haven't.
  15. white wine, lame drink of choice or not, very relaxing after a 8-10 hour day.
  16. First off, the line suuuuuuucked. A lot of my friends didn't have pre-tickets (from the school) so the rain killed any desire they had for waiting in the line. Got in at 11 and the place was packed. Coat check line was also insanely long, and the girl had no change, so we had to wait 15 min until she did. The bouncer said he would buy a cig off me, i said if he put my coat away, that would be fine. He took my coat, went into the room and gave me the ticket. Crowd: Pretty good i would have to say, but there was little room to really dance and no good place (other than upstairs) to go off. Met one girl who said she would give me a ride to Countdown, so that made my night. Lots of cool people from the other schools though, so that aspect was nice. Met some kids from Pratt, Tisch, but mostly were from my school, showing that SVA=Party kids. We rock. Music: Very good. Hard beats constantly throughout the night, and once they removed the platforms, it got even better. Basement with the hip hop was good, but too confined to really enjoy. $10 for a drink= Overall, a great night and i would definitely check this place out again It seems to be a pretty good space with good DJs to go along with it. Now i get to waiter at 3 this afternoon. JoY.
  17. so i'm leaving my friends bday party at around 1, walking with some friends to the N/R, and i say, "i should go to roxy right now!' but they respond by saying, 'do you really want to take all your art crap with you?' i get upset, and cave in agreeing that yes, i should not go and have that get wrecked (even if i checked it) so i go home and pass out. I wake to read all these posts about how crazy sick the night was, and now im just bah, next week i'll be in the bahamas, so i'm not THAT upset
  18. whats wrong with playing all four nyc underground cds?
  19. i sure did draw it. i am an artist after all. well, thats at least what my mom tells me...
  20. i'm a junior at School of Visual Arts. i'm probably not going to pursue comics though, marvel or dc stuff anyway. i want to become a teacher and storyboard/draw comics on the side. Theres tons of $ in storyboarding. i do take requests and can draw just about anything. any takers?
  21. i have 4 pages to ink for my comic thesis friday, and the tendonitis in my hand just kicked in. PAIN!
