  1. 12-11-01 Dear Club Planet Members: It has been a good 4 or 5 years since I had a great party week with NYC nightlife. I thought that I would never feel that tingle within myself again unless I went outside the US. I guess I was wrong. This past Tues. night @ Spa (13th street, Off-Broadway) was a great kick ass party. A true HIP-HOP/House night. Female models & the men that chase them with a touch of class is the perfect way to speak about Spa Tues. Wednesday was A short, but chill night at Sarafina's. Cute, Classy and packed. Go with a pocket full of U.S. currency or be with a hot girl or you are not getting in. Thursday night I 1st hit JA Lounge (84 7th Ave south) around 9pm. DJ Jon Ferrari is one crazy chill DJ that should be spinning for more heads @ one time. This small 100 people phat lounge is open 5 days a week. Jon Ferrari is there from Tues. to Sat. from 6PM until? AM. Next... Shine @ 1AM (285 West Broadway) with GriantStep Records & DJ Ron Trent spinning his crazy chill house, with nice crowd on top of it. GiantStep party was hard to leave, but my heart went belongs to Centro Fly Thursdays (45 west 21st street) with DJ Erick Morillo & the Subliminal family. Eric plays a true deep house style till about 4AM & flows over to a harder house until 6am. This Thursday Mature, Trendy, Retro, Tourist & B&T party is one that you need to check out! Friday night I went to way to many venues to be detailing. So I will give you a short run down from start to finish. JA Lounge, Sweet 16 (8th Ave on 16th Street), Centro Fly, Float (240 West 52nd street) W. Hotel Lounge (49th Street on Lex). Finally... Bliss (L. I. C. Queens). JA Lounge, Centro Fly Fridays & Bliss Fridays are somewhat music driven. Especially the GBH party @ Centro Fly. GBH Fridays is known for its funky house DJs such as Roger Sanchez, CJ Mackintosh, Ashley Beedle, Kings of Tomorrow, Robert Owens, David Morales and DJ Disciple. Downstairs in the Pinky Room, DJ Dinesh offers UK garage (a.k.a. 2-step) and breaks, with guest DJs such as Stanton Warriors, Artful Dodger and other top name UK acts. GBH is definitely all about the vibe. Bliss Fridays is the best house Boro party. DJ Boris gives a hard tranzy/house beat all night. HIP HOP IN THE JUNGLE ROOM BY TED THE DILLINGER. If you live in the boros or don't mind the ride. I recommend this B&T party. Plus a very cool laser light show that I have not seen in a long time. Saturday night did not end till Monday 6AM morning. JA Lounge of course till 1am. Then I was in for a big surprise when I got to World about 1:30AM and seen a bunch of Long Island & New Jersey B&T heads loving DJ Danny Tenaglia as much as I do. I would have never thought that Bridge & Tunnel would open their ears past DJ Jonathan Peters & DJ Shawn Ink. Well, I was wrong. This crowd was more than happy to have Tenaglia in there home. Matter a fact, a few told me that they wished Danny would be resident at World. I do not see that happening, but was happy to hear that they appreciated Danny style. If you did not know already... Danny is at Vinyl After-hours (6 Hubert Street) every Friday. Danny Tenaglia rocked Worlds ass from start to finish. WWF NYC was not standing when Danny gave off his last track @ 7AM. Hey Danny... I know you have heard this from me 1 billion times. And I will say it again. You can never bore me with your style of beats every time I am on the other end of the speaker. I told a friend of mine, " If Tenaglia were spinning at the end of my bed, with the love of my life in my bed, that would be a dream come true," Thanks for just being yourself. Next came Sound Factory (46th Street off 12th Ave) Sunday morning at 8am. Jonathan Peters still has that same B&T crowd shaken that ass till wee hours. I left at 10AM to hear Junior Vasquez at Exit (56th Street off 12ave) and heard that Sound Factory went till 2PM Sunday afternoon. Now Junior @ Exit was the man that Sunday. He still is giving out the vibe that would make anyone die a happy camper. We all know that he went through some drama the past couple of years, but he is back to his old self. Thank you JR.! :-) I knew that I need to get some sleep if I wanted to hit the X. K. party at the old Save the Robots in Alphabet City. Alan, the founder of X. K. started this party when our perfect Mayor came into office. Alan goal was to get away from the drama of police and politics in 1997. Finally after 3 years they caught up him and his party. Last Sunday from 1PM until 1AM was their Reunion in 2 years. I got there around 10PM feeling fresh and ready to go. Is X. K. a true Underground party? YES! No flyer or promotion @ all. Just word of mouth. 600 heads from 1PM Sun until 1AM Monday just to chill, meet and sweat the fat off. Nothing but RETRO all the way. As long as I get permission to do a mail out, I will keep you updated on the next X. K. party. I got to Pangea Lounge (Lafayette, BTW Astor & west 4th) around 12AM Monday morning. Pangea is one of the mature, fashion, Celebrity hot spots in NYC at the moment. Where Super Model Naomi Campbell was drinking and chatting 15 feet away. Dancing is not allowed here, but no one was paying any mind to that rule. I will be back again this Sunday. Need to be on a guest list or a friend of a friend in order to get into this baby. I had a Blast, and so would you. I finally got to Cheetah Sunday/Monday party around 3:30AM. Cheetah Sundays with DJ Merritt is definitely the late night spot if you have no work on Monday. Hey Merritt, No one can pull off a deep house, house, hip-hop beat like you can. See ya soon. Cheetah Sundays with Merrit was born in the mid 90's @ Kit-Kat Club called Con Fe Con leche. DJ Merritt spins with the same concept in 2001 @ Cheetah. I am there almost every Sunday. Enough said. During my stay at Cheetah, I found out that DJ Jonathan Peters was having a private party at his loft/studio NYC apartment. I arrived 10 minutes after his last track. I was truly sad to miss that private loft party. Monday night a friend drag me to Grove Jet on spring Street. The girls were hot, the guys were somewhat classy & DJ Jackie Christie pulled it off once again. I heard Jackie will be resident at Groove Jet every Thursday starting soon. I will let you know. What does this all say to me as well as you? Sept 11th cannot keep NYC nightlife from being the party town of the World! Please E mail me any new or old parties that you think I might like. I am always down to see, hear & learn a new spots & DJs. Leave the attitude at home. Kaine Rosado. KaineNYC@aol.com Just for the LOVE of it.
