  2. hey all, just a quick note to all. I will be selling off my portion of Concept Music to my partner Kevin as of July 1, 2002. The leave is based on many factors but the number 1 reason is to pursue my music career which ive put on hold for the past 2 1/2 yrs & to attend to both of my labels. im not quite certain on the plans for concept-music in the future. im sure kevin will do a fine job though. i want to thank all of you for a great 2 1/2 yrs. of great music, friends & fun. im sure ill see most of you around still since I will still be living in NB & frequenting all the NB evening spots in a very timely & drunk manner =). thanks again to all of you & be sure to stop in before the 1st! best regards to all. sincerely, chris trends

  5. i think that people are just becoming alot more educated about the music . . . that's not to say there isn't avid "clubgoers" that aren't just plain arrogant!
  6. agreed. it's the "commercial" club scene that's really basterizing the whole cd thing. well, then again it is "commercial" right? i want to see people mixing 8-tracks. that would be some REAL underground shit!! =)
  7. some burners will STRICTLY burn only CD-RW's & not just CD-R's.
  8. With all due respect to everyone on this board, I think that strictly spinning cd's is sometimes cheap. Now bare with me here, I agree that if you produce a track & want to hear it on a loud system to test it out that's cool. I mean that's why they call it a "test press" but if your STRICTLY going online & downloading music I think that's cheap. Now don't get me wrong I am a business owner & would love all the extra revenue I can get =) But regardless of that, it kind of takes the fun out of it. Why do you think records (tracks, EP's etc) are so NOT hyped up anymore? Because you can simply download it from any shareware site before it comes out. Is that really fair? Any Joe Schmoe can go & get that record that you've worked so hard to get. I think it's a very touchey issue. No offense to anyone here as I don't think I know any of you personally but I think that people who STRICTLY download music are a joke. What happened to the fun of going to a record store & seeing the new stuff on the wall? Damn, I own a record store & STILL get excited when the new boxes xome in on Tuesdays & Fridays> Maybe I dont get out enough.... =) Just my 2cents!!!! See ya's . . .
  9. Thanks to all of you guys for coming out. We had a great time & needless to say I think it was one of the best nights @ the Moon ever. I personally will be taking a "considerable" amount of time off due to some "unprofessional" actions of the venue that nite. Regardless, i'll be around. 21. The fact that anyone is knocking HB or Bonsolid for bringing in this talent kinda blows my mind. To be perfectly honest with you, I dont normally post on here but I had to add my 2 cents after reading some of this. It's truly about time that someone brings in some sort of international talent. Grant it, im not into trance or progressive house @ all but what a breath of fresh air seeing someone actually worth while at some of these local clubs. As a side note, ive heard how much some of these "local" guys make at some of these clubs & it completely blows my mind! Some of them don't even have a conception of what their playing? Guess what though? The same promoters keep booking them time after time after time. So what kind of standards exactly have been set? What are you the promoter & you the consumer (club goer) paying for? Now im not dissing anyone who plays elsewhere or any other competing clubs, truly im not! Im not involved in that scene @ all so no one should take this as a direct insult. All im saying is that pretty soon (much sooner than later) when it's all said & done, it'll be that musically educated person who will continue to "go out" even when they get old. The disposable "uneducated" (musically of course! =) person 9 times out of 10 finds a boyfriend/girlfriend & calls it quits until they break up. Am I totally off about this? I dunno... ive never really gotten down with the local club thing but my hats are off to Bon for attempting to make a change. You know what? They'll make it too (in my eyes). Because the "electronic music" scene is more saturated than it's ever been before & with that people are going to become a hell of alot less tolerable of the same old thing. Someone's gotta take the next step. -Chris Trends/co-owner Concept Music (NB, NJ) Oh & here's some shameless self promotion....buy something. www.concept-music.com concept music 139 easton ave new brunswick, nj 08901 usa tel-732.729.1717 fax-732.729.1711
