the party is usually at deep which as well isnt an underground venue...but the party and the music is more leaning toward the underground...because you wont find the muscle spikey haired guidos or the dressed up guidette scensters that just go for the sake of going to an event...its not going for the sake of the music and going to dance your ass of to the music you love...i dont agree with the artist not playing a venue ..because the last underground spot was vinyl where there were no pretty awnings or signs to tell you where it was and it was mostly built by word of mouth(until the end when it became arc)...(well i guess we still have shelter and love somewhat) they have very good reasons not to do the party at deep which i cant disclose on a public message board but they are valid ..to move the party to pacha and not deep

Ben Johnson is dope ...really great dj ...plays a bit edgier stuff than the other djs ..really gets the crowd going...grooving bass ..that cant help but move to ...definately needs to play out more

its all about the name game ...had a chat with a promoter who has a long standing steady party for 20 years...and what he said makes some sense...he doesnt book djs wiht "names" he makes the names for the djs at his party ....he brings the people ...he creates the party and leaves it up to the dj to keep them entertained....cuz if you bring in a dj with a "name " odds are the same people that come for that name ...arent gonna come back when you have a different booking ...so i think its all not just about production etc...its about names and numbers....and of course $$$
ny is very high rent so club owners have to see numbers ...who brings numbers ??? "names "
meanwhile half the names are mediocre and i can name countless no names that are 100xs better ...but again politics ..sad sad sad but hence why are scene is sooo saturated with mediocrity ...i want the days where the club hired promoters ...the promoters brought the people ...and the dj did their job in creating a vibe and giving them an experience enough to want them to come back again next week ....now as a dj you have to go around whoring yourself about ..promoting yourself trying to get a "name" pffttttttt

And ray ray if you want to hear djs play new and exclusive shit then i suggest you check out the djs who play 12-15hr sets and go adn listen to the last 5hrs or so of that set.
not true in the least ...it doesnt even have to be new or exclusive ..you can just simply have an ear for music that most dotn have....there is sooo much music out there that not even half of it is bein played ...real shame ...that most of the djs outhere feel the need to play the same shit everyone else is playin
