  3. Lol- Walker and I were up there acting like pretentious breaks heads, and were forced to buy water or red bull every 10 minutes from the uber bitch of a waitress. Awesome time though! I still feel like I may die.

  9. "FROM THE EDGE: The edge is not looking to book any random DJ. The djs being booked will be the ones that can handle a 4+ hour dj set. Those that have the ability to control an entire night of music. The edge's goal is to bring back the days of when single DJs would champion their own club night. Before the "rave" scene began, clubs would host only ONE main DJ, and that's the idea behind BASIK. Moving away from the rave-like-feel is to ensure the longevity of the club and to also help create a new standard for the Edge. We're not looking to re-invent the wheel, we're just recycling it! If you have any questions, concerns or even advice, please contact us at BASIK@edgewet.com. we welcome your feedback!"
  10. Yes. Eventually, the club will be showcasing ONE single dj/performer each week. -As the event builds in popularity, the club will eventually host additional talent. local, regional, national and international djs will be selected in the future. -The point of BASIK is to really focus on the music, not the djs. Once the ability to bring in additional talent is available, the dj performing will be playing to a first class crowd!
  11. Ok, since I am the *official* PR person for Basik now, lemme clear up some rumors. -This is an Edge (not Stellar) promoted party. No promoters are involved. -BASIK is every Saturday night, with DJs SLANT, TOM B, KEITH GARDNER & TY www.demrain.com/basik If you have any other questions, let me know.

  15. I must comment on this one.. Everytime I am at Buzz with Crank, I have to tell him 3,4, 5 make that 6 or more times that a different guy or girl is checking him out. He is indeed attractive to all sexes! Woot crank!
  16. Awesome seeing u too again Cat.. I think my legs are finally starting to recover, I can *kind of* walk without being in pain today:)
  17. That is what I had on on Saturday... My jeans were rolled up b/c I almost had a heat stroke from dancing all nite.. I was running in between the warehouse were Walker was, and the patio where Brian was:)
  18. If you were there on Saturday, I was the one running around like a chicken with my head cut off and dancing up a storm... The battle was one of the best nights out I've had in a long time- the vibe was unreal and I was so excited and proud of Walker and Brian. Tiny- thanks again for the RBV! You rawk! This is me to all you guys that haven't met me: Say hi next time you see me!! I am the one on the right, green shirt
  19. Walker, you were amazing!! Your mixing and track selection was off the hook, and the crowd was going crazy. Looks like I'm not the only one who can barely walk today. Tiny butterli- great hanging out with u on sat! WOOT! Yeah for Walker. RaveP
  20. Stellar's 2nd Annual BATTLE OF THE DJs!! Last year's battle was fierce with 13 DJs picked out of 300 entries, from all over the East Coast! This year's contest will undoubtedly be another monster competition with a new and more real "SYNCHRONICITY" based theme and this theme being "promoting the local and regional DJ". Over the past 5 years, the number of DJs in our area has either doubled or tripled each year. With an increase in the number of talented and aspiring djs and a decrease in the number of events/parties, becoming a DJ today has essentially become a "bedroom affair". This year's battle will showcase DJs in our area representing the various sounds of Electronica. Instead of winning a pair of turntables or DJ gear, this year's first prize winner will win a mini DJ tour sponsored by STELLAR and local/regional promoters. This DJ will have 4-5 confirmed dates to play at local and regional events as well as record stores and radio gigs. The ultimate prize for an aspiring DJ to showcase his/her style and promote his/her name. All other winners will receive prizes to benefit their DJ goals from professionally designed and printed full-color business cards, dub-plates and cd-rs of unreleased tracks from today's top producers to free studio time in a professional dj/recording studio. These are just samples of the robust list of prizes for this year's competition! STELLAR'S dedication to local and regional DJs has always been a top priority and with this year's contest we're going to take it to another level! SYNCHRONICITY "The 2nd Annual Battle of the DJs" Saturday, August 24, 2002 @ The Edge Nightclub The demo criteria a) 60 - 70 minute CD (no tapes) CD should have individual track markers / IDs c) full track listing (artist & title) Please include the following information with your demos: Full Name DJ Name Affiliations Home Address (street/city/state/zip) Phone (home/mobile/pager) Music Style Email Demos should be mailed to: Stellar Management 204 Country Club Drive, SW Leesburg, VA 20175 DEADLINE: July 1, 2002 All forms of Electronica will be considered for this event. THIS EVENT IS NOT FOCUSED ON TURNTABLISM. For further information: www.stellardc.com
  21. IMO the cross fader produces a much smoother sound and transision.
  22. I went!! It was awesome, Farina is genius.. What i heard of his set (the first 2.5 hours of it) was really funky, and everything I love about Farina.. He threw in some latin flavor which I liked.. On Connect I hated it, but the records he played at 5 went well with the vibe and his set.. The crowd I could've done without, I think like 98% of people there had no clue who mr. farina was..
