  1. Hey guys, long time no post. Been observing but I haven't wanted to join in on all the bickering. I am curious though as too who your favorite locals are and why. Here is my list 1) Jon Cowan - this guy amazed me last week when he opened for Dave Seaman. To be honest, I thought he was much better than dave and dave played a damn good set. Dave and Jon also went two for two at the end and Jon didn't miss a beat. You coulnd't tell the difference. He is also the only local that from what I understand has true international expirience. I've heard he's played for big UK clubs like renaissance, slinky, cream and in just about every country around the globe. Why doesn't he play more locally? his sets are so diverse ranging from dark deep stuff, to nice vocally stuff, to banging uplifting tunes. Jon is definitely my favorite local. 2) Austin Leeds - another top local that never plays here.....why I ask? top producer who is just as good behind the decks. His sets are deep dirty and dark ala digweed. every time I've seen him he has really impressed me, I only wish he played for us more.. I am constantly reading about his sets all over the globe on the global underground board.. If he's getting international bookings why don't club owners book him in his hometown?? weird huh? 3) Oscar G - reognition is definitely due for the main man in MURK. Oscar has been one of my favorite miami guys for a number of years. His mixing ability is SICK and his track selection can be amazing. Sometimes lately though, Mr. G plays too obvious. He also occasionally even plays trancey which makes no sense too me. He used to be the deep trbally house master. I wish he would just stick too his roots. I guess you have to play a bit of cheese from time to time to stick with space though. I am just glad oscar is finally getting the respect locally that he's deservd for years.. well - I guess thats my top 3 - look forward to all of your opinions.. peace, the herbster:laugh:

  4. oh yeah - and steffi - nice to be rude...I am not a bargain shopper just know a good thing when I see it... I would rather hear many top djs for the price of one....I guess in this case I am a bargain shopper...anything wrong with that?? slacker, p&W and quivver all in the same room.....HOORAY!!
  5. no worries mate - just like I said - its all in the name of fun... I will have a blast at bliss and I am sure whoever goes to bliss or howells is going to have an amazing night...its a shame they're on the same evening...
  6. you guys take this way to seriously....clubbing is supposed to be about fun...yes, I did say if your seroious about music go too bliss.. I was responding to dj dekans post saying - your not going to howells? go learn something about music...nobody got on his ass?? chill out guys...its in the name of fun!
  7. hey guys, no need to list dh's acomplishments. I never tried to take anything away from him. Like I said, he is an amazing dj. As for preaching. Isn't that what these message boards are for? its an open forum for people to express their opinions...just as I have... if you have a problem with me preaching what I feel, then you should stop posting all together... you like howells...so do I But I think bliss is a better choice personally...nothing wrong with me posting my opinion on an open forum is there?... personally, I just think that paying the same amount too see numerous headliners at one event is a better deal than paying to see one, even if its danny howells. Bliss is putting on a true clubbing event...thats something that doesn't happen here in miami too often.. I apploud bliss and will support bliss no matter what on the 3rd.... Once again, its my opinion that you should support bliss too....but like I said, thats one mans opinion... Big thanks too the bliss crew for trying to do something good for the scene~
  8. dj dekan, you need to learn about music....howells is wicked...don't get me wrong...seen him many times but too have parks & wilson (the forefathers of progressive house, the djs sasha said were one of his inspirations too start spinning), quivver ( twist & shout -need I say more?), slacker ( crobar - 2 yrs ago wmc - best set I've ever heard), tarrantella (true tribal funk!), and kelvin andrews (last yrs patio set @space was fucking awsome!) - oh yeah - and Jon Cowan - heard him for the first time in quite a while last saturday @ level. no wonder he is a renaissance resident... hard to believe how much jon has grown since the groovejet days..he absolutely destroyed the place... Anyways, if your serious about music...bliss is the place... howells will be back and crobar is getting old anyways...it will be refreshing to have all this talent under one roof.. for those of you who know - cya wed @ bliss herby:tongue: :D
  9. herby

    Satoshi

I am considering going also although I may just save myself for wed.... bliss followed by deepdish - thats going to take a lot out of me!
  10. one week til the event of the summer!! hooray! who else will be there?? can't wait to meet ya all!
  11. hey mikey d - are you not coming to bliss?? now thats fuckin" weak !!!!
  12. let me say that I am so excited for this event...I have been a bliss faithfull from the groovejet days and I am so excited to have slacker back in town along with the rest of the lineup.. In my opinion, slacker is one of the best djs to ever play miami and I would not miss this bliss event for the world!! hope too see you all on the 3rd in full force...hey jc - any chance of a guest list ..(hint hint)
  13. hi guys, this is my first post here on club planet. I have looked at this site often too learn of top events but have always chosen to stay "behind the scenes". This thread has actually made me want to chime in though.. I really feel that you guys are giving a real disjustice to your own scene by giving so many props too the danny howells night while slagging the bliss night.. I have been a miami clubbing loyal since the early 90's. I am talking the velvet days. After velvet closed I was a groove-jet loyal. That was the best place ever in my opinion. I remember when Bliss Productions began hosting fridays at groovejet. Do you guys realize that they started the guest dj scene down here? They were the first to bring in any outside talent. I remember when they brought dave seaman for his first trip to miami as well as anthony pappa, deep dish, parks and wilson, slacker, cevin fisher, john digweed, jimmy van m, k-klass, terry francis, satoshi tommie, nigel dawson, dave ralph, steve lawler(well he was first at liquid then moved to bliss @groovejet)ect ect.... they were the pioneers of the scene..thats the point I am trying to make...the bliss party's are always outstanding! Now week in week out you can see a headlining dj at crobar... This is a first for Level, which in my opinion, is the best room on the beach... I remember when sasha rocked that room when it was glam slam like 7 yrs ago during wmc...what a night that was!! What I am getting at is you guys should really attend level on the 3rd no matter who is playing crobar that night... at level you get some of the best djs in the biz like miami fav - slacker, parks & wilson (always a treat), quivver, and the incredible producing duo of tarrantella/redanka(my fav's) - and I can't forget kelvin andrews, did you guys see him at last yr bliss party or at bamby earlier this year?? this guy may be the best dj I've ever seen!! Anyways, I hope you all will think twice before you make your choice as Bliss at level will be incredible.... think about all those headliner DJ's in one venue....How can you miss out... oh, and thankyou bliss for all the memories...this post was fun to write as it really made me long for the old days... Maybe I will meet some of you on the 3rd.. I saw in the other post that jcbliss spoke of a club planet table...if I am welcome, I'd love too meet some of you...
