it's pretty cool and go support the Lower Manhattan area...

btw, i appreciated your articulate review of the world.

many people do not like the world, so please don't take that personally.

Yeah, I-know-I-know. I have the attitude in the back of mind that all these comments are in good fun; but sometimes my mood fluctuates( like we all have our bad days) and you get kind of

    ( you know):unhappy::cuss:

So anyway, cool, thanks your appreciation for my review and the info, will definitely try to make a show to support the lower Man. area, :aright:

And also I have some ideas about why people wouldn't like the World, but it would be interesting to hear why from others.:confused:

I personally think Amber has a quality that fits equally well in both the radio and club world.

Some people are like:confused: and some people are like:rofl: , and some people are like:blown: and just plain ruuuuude

Buttt,......It's comments like these that make writing reviews worthwhile. Thank you:D

    You just made my day;)

I'm sure amber made a lot of money threw her career. Last i saw here was at the surf club a long time ago, it was a great time.... name a female club singer that doesn't suck? not many club singers out there with more then one hit... she has many... so what if you don't hear her tracks at 8am at the factory... her tracks are not meant to be played then, she fits in perfect for what shes trying to do.... commercial vocals are great... i don't play my picotto live sets when i'm on the beach....

And we finally get to hear the Amber's Advocate, and it's about time too.

who cares what kind of camera you used....world sux and amber sux!

Well, I'm just writing about my experience going there. I don't think that's a crime, is it? I mean the event was promoted on the CP guestlist.

Amber might not be one of my favorite artists, but I think some of her songs are good, after all, some of them get frequent air play. So I don't know if you think thats why she sux, because she's too commercial.

I've never seen what she looks like in a picture or in person; so this is one of the reasons I went.

And I agree, that The World could use some improvement (with space size and atmosphere, disco ball, crowd excitement, etc.), So hopefully my review gives them the idea:idea:

And personally, I could go anywhere and have fun regardless of atmosphere and people. And again, everyone has their own opinion.

  5. SO I get there at THE WORLD in Times Square at near midnite. There was about 10 people on line on there way in. The guy in front of me turns around and asks" Is this Latin nights at World." I'm like "Yeah, this is the World???" I don't know about Latin nights though. When he asked the bouncer who then said it was last week and that this is Ambers' nite, he left.

So I get in there excited to finally get the chance for the first time to see Amber-the goddess whose music mainly promotes the sexual feeling. "When is she coming on?" I asked security, and the check in clerk. They don't know, but wish me a great time for the nite.

OK, I get in, walked up to the bar, scoped the almost empty dance floor, and met a couple of friends. There wasn't a crowd at the time...looked like about 50-60 people there, which is not too bad, since it's such a comparably small place. The atmosphere was very relaxed with people sitting at candlelit tables doing their thing. I noticed that there is a larger mature crowd here than at other clubs like Exit, and Roxy; but overall, it looked very mixed.

So I stood there for a little, taking in the atmosphere, the music , the crowds, lights, and especially, the huge movie screen behind the DJ booth (which I didn't notice before, the 6 months ago I was here for the first time). This was a trip because they were playing the movie-The Clockwork Orange"- a really sadistic movie that deals nazi society, out-of control teens, etc. and which, by the way, has a lot of nudity.

So sometimes, when you see this huge unedited frontal view of a naked dude on the screen, or close-up views of huge breasts with erect nipples for more than a few minutes, you begin to wonder, "Am I in a porn theater?"

And there was this sexy lady DJ in the house dressed in a shiny glittered bra, hot pants, bangles and a giant afro, reminiscent of the 70's. Outta Siite, I must say.

About 15 minutes later, when that Madonna "Like a Prayer" remix came on, the dance floor got some life, not by me yet though. I think it was the mix of that Lazsco song that made me hit the floor. Hmmm, or was it that jamaican "Sweep my backyard "mix. Well whoever the DJ was, she worked it goood.

After an hour of slicing up the dance floor to the jumpin beats, guess what? "Everyone, the moment you've all been waiting for: Introducing AMBERRRR....

Her 4 dancers first make the dramatic entrance on the stage doin there thing, then the one and only Amber comes with this rose pink robe which made her look like a sorceress singing her hit"Sexual."

It was a good crowd on the dance floor and all around at this time; and I was at like the perfect spot on the floor right in front of the stage at the time she came on, and had the best view, especially with camera in hand ( which I used).

After finishing, she takes that robe off revealing that hot body in tight black pants and light blue top. "Foxy" is the word to describe it. God, she has huge arms and must work out daily. She tells us her dad( who is a classical composer) is here with her, and that she will next sing a new song that hasn't been played yet and hopes we like. I thought it was good.

She goes on to sing a couple of her older hits like I think" I Put My Arms Around Him, Yes.....", etc(not sure about the exact titles); then that current hit, "I Feel the Need to Be Naked With You." One problem I think is that her mic wasn't audible enough, but this wasn't a major distraction. She wasn't there long enough, about 45 minutes, and some people close to the stage were lucky enough to get free autographed photos that were handed out towards the end. Damn!! I wasn't fast enough to grab one til they all went. But, hey, I got pics of her performing....Just as good...or better.

All the time I was there, I felt something was missing, and at the end of the night it hit me: " World, man?.....Where is hell is your SHINY DISCO BALL? I know you had one the last time I was there. Did it fall, drop or something, and is being repaired or replaced? C'mon, a dance club is just not one without a shiny disco ball. Well, that's all. Had fun. Thanks CP for the 5 dollar discount. Stay tuned: pics later.:D
