  1. Well, I'd say wait it out. Didn't it go something like this last year -->

$55 in advance (when the hype was big)

$45 the month before (when not many bought in advance)

$35 two weeks before (when it was still too much)

$25 the day of the show (when they were trying to get people to show up)

I'm not planning on going because I don't like the massive raves that much ... but if it's anything like last year I think I'd just wait and buy tix the day of the show.

    T.S. Heritage

    By Alexandra Quiñones

    Article Published Aug 17, 2006

House, techno, jungle, drum 'n' bass, breakbeat. To an outsider, these terms equate to simply "untz, untz, untz." But for EDM insiders, these subgenres are as distinct as twins are to their parents. Consider T.S. Heritage the ultimate insider. You won't find him venturing into one of the megaclubs or über-elite lounges where urbane house music has gained notoriety. Instead his upbeat brand of nu-jazz and soulful brokenbeat tracks fits like a puzzle piece into the underground scene that Heritage firmly champions. The DJ and producer got his start spinning breakbeats for drum 'n' bass party Beatcamp under the alias T. Farmer. Although he has remained under the radar for the past few years, Heritage has released a few remixes and original tracks on his imprint Boosted Recordings. Springtime also brings the DJ out of his cave for WMC,

during which he hosts and promotes for the Transatlantic party. So even if your brain isn't an EDM encyclopedia, take a cue from Heritage and ditch the ritzy-glitzy scene for an unassuming dance party.

  3. I like DJs that go wikki-wikki, itchy-scratchy, stop the track and start it again from the top 10 times in a row, and then get on the mike and yell "Make some noooiiiiizzzeee" or "Where my dogz at" or maybe even "Shake your ass, bitches". Oh yeah, if there's a siren or some kind of big bell to ring, that is fresh, too!

    NOT!

  8. The Miami club scene is too dependant on tourist traffic to do anything different on a large scale. The events that cater to discerning listeners who know the scene and can go out every weekend have to be at small specialty clubs and lounges. You'll never get enough people coming week after week to a place the size of Nocturnal, or Crobar, or Mansion if you have DJs that play anything other than pop music. Tourists don't want to hear the latest tracks, they want to get drunk and hit on each other ... they want a hip-hop or reggaeton mindless meat fest.

So, with that being said, I suggest you find the small venues that play the styles you like and support them ... forget about the massive warehouses. The scene can't support a raving crowd anymore.

  9. I've got nothing to do with anything in this thread. In fact, I wasn't even there ... but I just have to say "Nice picture in your sig, Meng!" Brought back some chill-out room memories from back in the day with that one ... What ever happened to The Orb anyways?

  10. Bump for tonight ...

And if you're looking for directions it's super easy to get to Ultra Lounge.

From I95, take the 81st/79th St. exit and head east to Biscayne Blvd. Take a right on Biscayne and head south six blocks and Ultra will be on your right hand side. There's a parking lot a little way down 73rd on the left.

Hope to see some of you there ... at the least stop by on your way down to Nocturnal for some cheap drinks ;):drunk:
