This is one of the articles. NEW BRUNSWICK — Antics at Platinum Night Club Thursday night during the "Girls Gone Wild" event may have violated state or local law, according to city officials. "The facts as reported, if true, may very well constitute violations of state Alcohol Beverage Control rules and regulations and perhaps municipal ordinances," New Brunswick Mayor James T. Cahill said. "I have referred this matter to (Police) Director (Joseph) Catanese for a complete investigation to determine if any charges will be brought against the Platinum Club and if so what sanctions will be sought." The state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control handbook in a section on go-go dancing restricts "lewd and immoral activity" that "generally involves the lack of attire or covering on genitals or "private parts,' as well as female breasts." In addition, a city ordinance states that a nightclub cannot advertise that a venue is 18 to enter and 21 to drink, an ordinance that Platinum has allegedly violated in the past. Thursday's event was advertised through press releases by the "Girls Gone Wild" production company, though no mention was made of age restrictions. None of the young women who exposed themselves were employees of the club. Free drinks were offered in exchange for a young woman to disrobe in one instance, though whether or not those drinks were eventually purchased could not be verified. In that same instance, the young woman accepted $210 in cash from individuals in the crowd after she revealed her breasts and took off her thong underwear. Phone calls to Platinum owner and manager Peter Gassaro were not returned yesterday.
