  1. Oakie's @ Avalon, Carl Cox isn't at The Roxy......where's everyone going next weekend?
  2. Oakies at Avalon, Carl Cox isn't at The Roxy.....What else is going on that weekend? Any suggestions?
  3. Back in the uk there's a monthly mag called MixMag which lists out clubbing events for a the month, is there anything like that in NY? We like to plan our nights out in advance, but don't know where to go to find out who's playing and where... Can any of you help? Lula Talullah
  4. I really wanna find a good radio station that plays decent dance music without a stupid DJ chatting inanely the whole time. can anyone suggest one? I listen to BBC Radio One online, but wanted something NY based too.
  5. Helllllllllllllllllllllllllp! I can't find it online ANYWHERE!
  6. Is there anyone out there whose going to Tsunamis this weekend? Is it a good night? There's a trance night in the UK of the same name and it's usually a blast, but I've never been to a Tsunamis gig in NY before.......
  7. We are going to see PVD on Friday and want to arrange to meet some mates in a good bar near the venue. Can anyone suggest a good pre-bar meeting place?
  8. I had heard a rumour he was coming on Feb 1st, but he isn't listed anywhere..............what time do you recommend getting there?
  9. The Cross on a Saturday night (Renaissance, Type, Serious). Turnmills is good, but they always pack far too many people in for my liking. I like some room to dance and to be able to get to the toliets in under 30 mins We've been to Arc before but didn't like the venue. The sound system was really out of sync and the pale walls and wood floor reminded me of a school gym. May go to see Jules play there though.
  10. I know we did, he's absolutely BRILLIANT. We have been a fan of his music for years, jet lag however got the better of us, so to avoid sleeping on the dance floor (not cool) we stayed in! Do any of you listen to BBC Radio 1 online? If not you should, all those DJs play and you can go to the archive shows and listen to them. the site is www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 then go to Listen Live and you'll see all the shows listed on the right!
  11. Thanx for all the replies - Jules, PVD, Hybrid and Seb F sound fantatsic, a real reminder of back home!
  12. OK. I have been living in NY for 4 months and as a London clubber I am finding it difficult to know where to go for my clubbing kicks....we witnessed Oakie on Thanksgiving Eve at Exit which was possibly the best set I have ever heard, but where to go now? Does anyone have any suggestions? Or US DJs that play the same kinda stuff as these god-like DJ's....?
  13. I have recently moved to NY from London and yes, Radio 1 is a fantastic dance music station (Seb F, Jules, Fergie). They have great weekend music and dance music also plays from 5.30pm for a couple of hours each week night. I'd highly recommend logging onto their site and having a listen. You can listen live (bit difficult sometimes with the 5 hour time diff) or you can listen the previous week's shows. It's making the move here much easier - US radio is soooooo cheesy! The Chris Moyles show (9am - 12pm week days NY time) is also a laugh!
  14. I totally agree. My husband and I arrived a little early, but the room still hadn't filled out by the time we left at 4am. We are used to packed, sweaty clubs, but Saturday night felt more like a School Disco than a hedonsitic night of clubbing. I felt embarrassed for Sander K too - where was his 'up-for-it' crowd? Such a shame....is it always like that? We are going to see Oakie Thanksgiving Eve, which I am sure will be an improvement! :(
