  1. problem is, you need music to dance, and if people aint making it.....

just cuz music isnt printed on vinyl doesnt mean its not getting made. Its far easier nowadays to just make it digitally and have it distributed online, becomes more accessible to everyone and puts the producers name out there.

everyone seriously just needs to stop getting hung up on how the music is mixed or made. Now when the djs just start popping in mash ups or predone sets, then bitch n whine, til then is all good long as they putting in their soul into it.

  2. you are so ignorant. and its really pathetic how you seem to think you can judge someone off one set.

i have no idea your ears with the epicenter of taste for all things music related, and were so finely tuned to make such assessment such as that.

jealousy must be a bitch...you must hate that you think he sucks sooo bad but packs a club all the time, has a record contract, and makes some serious paper doin it.

hey douche bag, jealous of what, i dont care what he has or who he brings in, i dont like him and find him EXTREMELY dull. His music is very monotnous and its exactly what one expects from a big name club dj. Good for him that he's making money by giving subpar music lovers that kind of shit, so congrats to you for settling but yes I do prefer quality over hype.

  3. i dont think its just house, i know plenty of djs who dont buy ANY of the stuff the mix if its mp3s and most ppl just prefer to download these days anyway. It's all about the quality of music most the time, a lot of it sucks, so we just want that one really great song and not the entire shitty album.

Its rare nowadays that anyone will pay for shit. Although now with sites that offer downloads of songs for a small fair price, its slowly becoming more the norm. I try to find stuff I want off of pay sites and i dont mind paying a dollar or a bit more for just one song I really want digitally or as a single with a few good remixes.

The other thing is, djs especially have over the years shelled out LOTS of cash on vinyl most of all even cds and to be honest they dont make back a lot of that money even with the gigs they get, there are a few that break even but most dont. Yah thats pretty much it.

  4. Dude, if you're actually watching the DJ the whole time, you're dull.

yup, its not always how the music is presented but the music itself. Everyone just shut the fuck up and dance.

Friend of mine uses serato, he got me hooked, lays out 6 hour sets using a mini laptop, serato and external drive. Its sick and the track selection is bananas, its shit he would never think of bringing on vinyl but its there so its like last min decisions, its more personal in a way and allows for a unique set if the dj knows how to work it proper.

  5. avalon was dead inside, but there where no guidos or cracked out asians, plus the music was insanely good. I call it a great night, minus my broken toe and sprained ankle...thats how hard i danced n stupid drunk i got >_<

    great night though ^_^

  6. someone was using this at sullivan room one night.... his laptop froze..had to wait a few minutes til' he re-booted everything....real smooth, lol

NEVER load all the mp3s on the laptop, run them from a seperate external drive. I use my laptop strictly for serato n school reports ^_^. No freezes ever, cuz i dont fill it with junk. Also its gotta have really good ventilation, overheating does happen. Other than that Serato ownz ^_^

oh also, its easy to switch back to normal records using serato so his fault for not taking some back up records ;op
