September 11th is coming up, and I myself am taking my very so fucking rare days off to travel back to the area and honor those in turn that took a major part in motivating me to be where I am now.
With remembering such, if you could do me a favor...

I would say the greatest thing any soldier could get. Letters.
Email is convenient and faster, but to have a physical hand-written letter that they can have in their pocket and look at whenever they are bored or homesick is more powerful then you think.
Just for an example, going through basic training a year ago was difficult enough, as if iraq is any easier, anyways my point. My mother, brother, and a few friends managed to write me a few letters. This one letter for example, was about 8 pages of the most insignificant information you could think of; ranging from the weather to local news (which child-friends got arrested.lol) to even describing how funny it was that my one dog was dressed up as a reindeer. The point is that this particular letter got me through the hardest times of doubt and through the lows etc.
ANY news or rather anything written about "other then military stuff" is wonderful. Plus I reread that s.o.b. a million times over.
Every time mail call came around it was as all these adults, all these soldiers, got all excited as if they were freakin 7 again waking up christmas morning.
ANyways, just thought I share that.
