  1. So then dont go...but its nice for people to think about the other things going on that we face every day, people BATTLE cancer all day every day.

Regardless of what it is for Im sure it will be a good party, its the closest to SEXY @ Roxy you are gonna get right now w/ JV and other top dj's being there too.

  2. I usually surprise my guy with lingere...then after all is done and its time to go to sleep...I like to sleep in one of his tee shirts, they're nice and soft and I look like a little kid in an oversize tee.

Otherwise, in my own bed i like my VS pj pants and little tank.

Socks are good if its freezing, otherwise no socks! LOL

  3. I got an email that they are having a huge party @ Roxy on Thursday April 17th with many dj's (including johnny) and its for breast cancer awareness. I read it quick but I know the line up of Dj's is pretty good. Its a one night thing so it should be a great night.

  4. find a recruiter to help you out...the companies pay them- you dont. Post your resume...post WHAT YOU DO up here, maybe someone is in the same business and can help you make a contact. I posted mine on monster saying I cant work until june 1st and already i have people waking me up at 9am responding to my resume. You can find something, dont be too picky right now b/c the economy sux

  5. Okay here it goes...

Mirage is a good LI club on a Saturday night.

The age for guys is 25 to keep the kids out and get a classier, older crowd that spends more money. (smart for business). So NO jeans for guys and I wouldnt chance khaki's either.

Wednesdays they are less strict but the crowd is much younger

and the place clears out earlier.

They advertise ktu/top 40 therefore you know what type of music you will get...commercial as most LI clubs are. However towards the end of the night Ojeda starts to play the good stuff.

On Saturdays the music rotates between house and classics, wednesdays house and hip hop.

Its a typical LI crowd...however many people come from queens, staten island, etc. Just because its on LI doesnt mean the crowd is all from LI. The cover I believe is about $15 (dont quote me).

Its obvious its not a place like Exit/Factory, and Its obvious its not a lounge like B'lo or Suede.

Its fun with a bunch of friends...besides your night is what you make of it!

    :)

    Hope that helped a bit.

  6. For those of you who live out on LI...Merlot in Blue Point is great on thursdays and will only be getting better. Its ladies night and Tarek and Jeremy throw a great party. Merlot itself is small but really nice, the people that work there are friendly, the music is great and the crowd is not stuck up. Their "website release party" will be next thursday 4/3. Just suggesting a good party on a thursday for those who dont want to go into the city, or live further out east. :) This thursday Ojeda will be there.

  7.

This man always has intelligent things to say...

most people dont and nobody questions them about why they are on a message board. Half the time people are starting trouble and putting eachother down. You want to discuss things that are interesting and from what i read, dolik seems to have been around and has good input/knowledge and stories about the scene. Just because he isnt in it as much, does not mean he shouldnt be able to contribute his thoughts and experiences. That goes for everybody! :)

  8. Dont bother...

the crowd run by johnny is young and blah, very cheezy. If you go to the thread about discotheque on saturdays, its the same promoter and same crowd...you will hear the same comments about the crowd.

If you want to go to hear a specific person spin, thats ok...but there much better places to go on a friday or sat night in Nyc!

  9. It depends on the person...if the person is wise and really knows how to do business...he will keep his guests happy and give them what is promised on the flyers, websites, etc. Some of them are scumbags and lie that famous stars and dj's will be there just to get you in...but as soon as people see they are lying, and if the club sucks as a whole...people wont go anyway. But you cant put promoters down for doing what they do... there are people who do the right thing and scumbags in every industry.

  10. If i must clarify...i meant certain clubs...I like lounges a little better. But i love the music...so therefore like everyone else I am entitled to be involved in discussions and hear about what is going on all over. Doesnt mean you wont find me at Arc sometime when I feel like it. I dance because i love the music and ive been dancing all my life. Besides this job really does not pay my bills it is pocket money, I have real job. I dont think i need to explain anymore. If you are really that interested in my life you can PM me.

And for the girls I see every week...Its just something I observe while in between my sets...you get to know faces.

DOLIK...thanks...you understood what I was saying. Very simple

  11. well its actually the promoter that does a crap job promoting and not following through. i dont want to say any names, but their parties seem to be hit or miss. The fashion show my friend did for them at float (the same promoters) was great b/c the girl that ran it did an excellent job and had adorable girls. But like i said, the promoters promises are broken as soon as you get there. Grrrrr! When it comes to having famous people...they usually stick to the upscale smaller places such as Suede, Pangea, b'lo, etc. So a promise at discotheque for now under these guys is as good as nothing.

  12. I went to last night too...I must say the promoters are terrible and so are the door men there. I had a guest list for my friends party...about 21 people and they promised us that anyone who said they were there for the bday would cut the line and walk right in with reduced admission. Well, that was a lie. We were at our table wondering why practically nobody was there...it was because they were turning everyone away at the door. Even 2 girls had trouble getting in because they were with 1 guy. On top of that their bottle prices are outrageous and they want you to pay for 2 upfront. Yes there were a lot of guys there...but for a party they should always make an acception when they say they are going too, men or women. It was my first time there and the place is nothing great at all, the crowd is cheezy...but the music was very good. Gotta take the good with the bad i guess.

  13. If i wasnt a dancer at all these clubs i wouldnt go to most of them.

Its good to go once in a while because you appreciate them more when you havent been there in a while. As i have gotten older I like lounges and more classy places. It feels good to get dressed up and go to a nice place and be able to mingle. I guess I appreciate that more because i dance so much when i work.

If i wasnt a dancer i might think otherwise, but at least it has kept me from getting wrapped up in the scene...I cant go on a box mangled i'd get fired. SO it keeps me in "check", even though i have never been one for drugs. Its also pretty lame to go to the same place every week. I see this one group of girls at the club i work at EVERY week and it makes me think that they have nothing better to do. Id rather be on a date and possibly getting some!:)
