I don't think he made it to Opium... But I heard he rocked it at Nerve. Can't wait to see him @ Space on Thursday. :goofy:

James Zabiela was definitely the best of my night.... I had heard loads about him, heard tons of his live sets, but NEVER seen him live. That kid is going to be huge. He has a beautiful vibe going on. Amazing track selection. Flawless mixing. Wicked technical skills. Hats off to you, James! What a way to start off conference! :D :D Also nice to see industry people in the house. It's in the air! :goofy:
  3. What's wrong with Miami, Miami? Clubs are a business like any other. Some filthier. Some darker. And in the end, it's always about making money. It's just amazing to me how someone as talented as you are does not hold a residency in a city that: 1. Claims to be a haven for aspiring DJs 2. Has some of the best clubs I've seen in this country 3. Has a history of clubbing and reinvents itself every year w/ conference 4. Has local clubbers (and tourists), that, inspite of such economical distress, still go out EVERY WEEKEND... Because of these 4 points (and many, many others), you SHOULD be proud to say you're from Miami.. But WOW. This just indicates how close-minded the nightlife scene is this city is, in reality. Keep up the good work, Greg. Your humility, talent and perseverance are an inspiration to many of us. We will keep on supporting you all the way. :goofy:
  4. Congrats!!! Great way to launch! I wish you the bestest bestest of luck! Will definitely be there. :D See, this is how things should be done around here. Know your MARKET. Use your CONTACTS. Showcase the MUSIC. (Now, I'd like to see what has been done with the VENUE...) The CROWD will be there (AND I WILL TOO) for sure. Props for booking Darren Emerson & Tim Deluxe (Underwater)... VERY powerful duo. They will tear that place up!!!!!!!!!! :goofy:
  5. Who is DJ Matt Martinez? Just on a little side note... I agree with the guaranteed WIN situation by having a 4 hr. open bar. Of COURSE it's gonna be packed! But what's going to happen when they nuke it? If they can? Do you think people will still show up? And considering spring breakers will LEAVE TOWN in less than 2 weeks........ Maze really shouldn't begin to spoil their crowd. Not a smart move. Are people at least paying cover? Hopefully this Martinez guy can build a strong following. I see this open bar deal as a SMART marketing tactic to get the spring-breakers in. But are they spending $? :goofy:
  6. AAAHHHHHHH.... It's good to know that in more than one way, the music club scene in Miami is starting to take a new direction. NEW, QUALITY sounds. No pretentious bullshit. No trying to be something you're not. I know the crowd will be receptive, and the basis of this is that what is being offered is REAL . The music is alive. The crowd is alive. Therefore, the vibe is alive. It's about positive energy. I see great future for those who believe in it. I would like to see more of this happen. If not MORE, it's like to see this bloom. Clubbers will begin to grow re-accustomed (back to the good old SoBe clubbing days... and nights;)) to what's it's like to party like it is. We were spoiled. Then disappointed. Now, we are ready to be pampered again. How could the scene possibly not be ready for this???? We're kinda broke, but hey. We can still party, right? On a separate note, I applaud Modernism for trying to implement this new musical evolution in Miami. I also applaud Aquabooty for always keeping it real and vibeful. A big boo-hoo for those who don't have vision and try to overshadow those who do. It's about making money. But you can't compromise your beliefs in the process, people. Good luck to all of those involved in this and props to those who support it. I'm getting chills and thrills. Ooh, and pills. Congrats Austin Leeds! You rock my world, baby. missfunk :goofy:
  7. I have got to agree with roxy when she says BDB is the funkiest party in town. Carmel and Mykel's fab production always delivers, and every so often, Bamby enthusiasts can expect a little Monday-night thrill. What a great way to start the week. Good to know I don't have to wake up early tomorrow. Enjoy. :goofy: MISS FUNK
  8. It'll be a long night for me tonight... A lot of things going on. One of my sure stops will be BLUE, where the talented South Florida DJ/Producer Austin Leeds will be manning the decks from 10 to 5 am. For those of you who are not familiar with his newer sounds, Austin's sets are an experience in their own. His flawless mixing and programming selection are broad enough in genre (deep, electro, tech-house, breakbeats, funk and soul) to make this musical journey playful and unexpected, yet unique among his DJ peers. So stop by if you can & check it out for yourselves. Cheers. MISSFUNK
