Hey Peeps, long time no posty!!!!
Well you may remember that a few weeks ago I posted a question about who you wanted to see DJ at Crobar.
Many of you have been somewhat miffed that your favorite Dj's have yet to play at Crobar. It was always our intention to bring you the best players out there but we simply had to get through Christmas and New Year's before we started planning the coming year's schedule.
Well we dont want to give away all our secrets just yet but let me just say that you will be pleased......
Friday Jan 30th we have TOM STEPHAN...
Some other dates to pencil in your calendar will be
FEB 27th
MARCH 5th
MARCH 12th

Things may be changing......but all is not forgotten
BTW... for those of you that don't know... Waxman is the Music Director for Crobar.. so basicly I'd predict he spins whenever there's nobody booked.....
so... are you gonna be doing these same posts aboutQuo in a couple of weeks???
Wow, you are one positive individual.
If I knew what he was talking about, why would I ask for more specifics???? If he then gives me specifics I will try and address them here publically.
Your prediction re the DJ not surprisingly, is wrong.
I do not work for Quo either (whoever that is)

I went to Crobar for the first time this Saturday. Let me say that the club is beautiful (much better than the one in South Beach) and the vibe is great. Also, the staff is very friendly.
The only negative to be honest is that David Waxman is kind of horrible. Victor Calderone is awesome, so I wouldn't change his residency, but seriously there needs to be an upgrade from Waxman. It is such a nice club with incredible potential, it would be a shame to waste every other Saturday on a DJ who is below standard.
Sorry you feel this way about David. What other DJ;s would you like to see on Saturday?

We definitely know the importance of a big Hip Hop night.
One of the plans in the works is Thursday nights with Mark Ronson and Q-Tip in the main room. A Soulful, Deep house party in the Prop Room and new and emerging talent in the Reed Room.
Sunday's are still the planning stages but a possible Sunday afternoon party is planned and well as Sunday nights.
Wednesday's have been mentioned as a good Rock & Roll night in the smaller rooms with the main room being closed.
Weeknight entrance fees will most likely be reduced.

there should be a thursday night with hip hop in the main floor, cause new york is hip hop, great part of it. and make like a wednesday or so to a theme night like fetish and stuff like that. been to miami and they had stuff like that. but def like hip hop night but not like a thug night more like classy like suede just at crobar. would be the biggest thing.
Interesting point, but how do you avoid the Thug element as with most Hip Hop parties that blow up, They turn thuggy eventually.

I think this may be a very interesting thread.
Dave, Reddog.. can we get a sticky on this.
Well considering all the opinions that have been voiced on this board as of late. I think it's time to revisit this issue.

If you remember some time ago I posted up what DJ's or parties did you want to see at Crobar.
Well now that the madness has passed I want to put the same question out there again.
What parties/DJ's/style of music and in what rooms on what days would you like to see?.
Do you like the idea of Thursday and Sunday being open.
Please try and make the responses constructive and stay away from just attacking.
Thanks

Actually the After-hours party at Crobar in the VIP room was soulful house music and the crowd were LOVING IT!
While Calderone was rocking the main room. all the ladies, celebs and club staff were in the VIP getting down to some real cool house music. Even the hot bartenders were jumping on top of the bar to get their groove on.
Hope this is sign that Crobar cares about the music more than the bottles sold.
Jury still out on that one.......
Lots of exciting stuff coming in the next few weeks.
Now that Christmas and New Year's are over we have a lot of good plans ahead.
STEVE LAWLER This Friday @ CROBAR
in New York / New Jersey
