actually, he was never with the original "NICE N WILD". David was originally with the group but he went solo and now he and now he performs as "NICE N WILD" with his brother "DIAMOND BOY LOU".

Yes, people actually request the freestyle songs that KTU plays. But, there are many other songs that are requested that are never played, unless its during the freestyle sets like on sunday nights with JUDY TORRES. KTU's freestyle library only consists of about 100 songs. The reason why they do play the rare ones on Sunday night is because DJ's Johnny Budz & James Anthony bring in thier own stuff. Other than that, youre stuck hearing what KTU plays. The 107/1 frequency is horrible for DRE/LIR. I can barely get it and Im on the cusp of nassau county. Freestyle did not die because of its crappy sound. It had its day. HIP HOP was building more fans and freestyle was getting old. how many times can you hear TKA talk about a girl they wanted so bad or a girl that broke thier heart? times change, people change. the music didnt suck. Can you believe LATINOMIX bought DRE/LIR out for $60 million? Where the hell did they come up with that money?

good news, LIR fans! WLIR has found a new home on 107.1, but the frequency sucks!!!

i guess 94.3 can pick up thier old listeners. Its the only station that can carry some of the music LIR has played.

I for one will like it. we already have too many spanish stations on the dial and we dont need the same one on 2 station on the radio. Im going to miss the ENGLISH MUFFIN.

I've been very sick with the flu and working like a chicken without a head at the same time. I just thought it would be a cool to mention that 92.7fm the old WLIR in Long Island is now becoming an extention of WCAA Latino Mix 105.9fm and now The Freestyle Flashback and all Latino Mix programming can be heard on both dials as of this Friday January 9th. 2004 starting at the 12 Noon Freestyle Flashback lunch break. This is great news for Freestyle Music while it expands to a broader audience covering areas that Latino Mix was not able to reach in the past year. Your so wrong. in the early 80's, 92.3 was KTU. It went by names such as WKTU 92.3 "Disco 92," & "92 KTU. I have an interview of the beastie boys in 1987 on the howard stern show. as they enter the office, Mike d exclaims "hey.....wasnt this the same place where that disco KTU station was?"

i was in the 92.7 offices yesterday. Word is that LATINOMIX 105.9 has bought the station and they will be expanding thier spanish sound over 92.7. so, i hope you wont miss 92.7 that much!

dont forget, before country 103, there was HOT 103, which later turned to HOT 97, then years later it became all HIP-HOP. KTU calls itself "THE NEW KTU" because it wants to let people know it is not the old 92 KTU. I know, any moron can tell the difference but thats what the station directors tell me.
