I hope you can make it !!! Ibiza is DOPE !!!!, when you get out of the airport, on the highway billboards are huge club advertisements, in the airport, the backlit signs that usually advertise liquor or perfumes, advertise clubs !, the last time I went (june) the first you saw when you got out of the airport was a huge billboard with a picture of Carl Cox announcing his residency @ Space for we love sundays. you can start a night at Pacha on saturday (this year it was subliminal on saturdays), when they close go to Space for we love sundays (on sunday morning) party all night, when they close can then go to DC-10 (monday morning) party all day, you have few hours to kill and head to Privilege for Manumission, party all night and end up tuesday morning @ the carry-on party of Manumission until about oh say 4:00 p.m., so from saturday to tuesday you can almost party non-stop ! after that you can take few days to recoup and enjoy the chill hang outs ! (there's nothing like it !!)

btw, If you go to Manumission, stay until the end !, most of the time they will hand out free admission tickets to the carry-on party @ Space. And that party is off the hook !, alot of industry people and clubs staff head out for that one, and they are ready to party ! really cool vibe !

Heh heh.. you forgot that last year.. at 4pm Tuesday Garlands opened at Pin Up .. and went on until 6am.. (or you could head over to Miss Moneypenny's at El Divino at midnight until 7am..) followed by Space until 4pm.. when Soul Heaven opened at Pin Up again at 4pm with a BBQ - again until the morning.. followed by Space again... So that pretty much makes it from Saturday until Thursday afternoon.. How much stamina have you got!! LOL

    Caners' r us :D

Hmm .. then I have friends who think a good weekend consists of alcohol, speed, e, lsd, ghb, poppers with a goodly amount of coke for added pleasure. But they scare me a touch! Their latest concoction is lsd and geebee.

It seems as though most people get bored of XTC after a few years and either move on to something else or give up the scene anyway. There are not that many people who keep going for 10 years - I know some, but its def the minority.

I had a cousin die from it too.. yet there is still the possibility to use, enjoy and walk away. Depends on you, your will power and the respect you give whatever you take.

Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole though. But that's probably more down to the fact that I prefer stimulants and don't fancy it! :D

:D I'll do you a swap - coming to NY in a few weeks.

Its getting more and more popular - though it was legal up to last year sometime too.. I just don't like having to look after people that have taken geebee without knowing it. Mixed with E and charlie its not a pretty or fun sight.

There is an article in Mixmag (UK dance mag) about a couple addicted to the stuff where she pulled out her own teeth with pliers whilst trying to get off the stuff.. Freaky.

  7. In the UK.. we have a huge problem with people being spiked with it..

Its also getting more and more common to find people being taken off to A&E (ER?) oding. In one night.. in one club - 6 people from the same group where taken - with more dealt with on the scene.

    :( :(

Its normally sex every time... leave afterparty\friends and go home.. to bed. Still got the ol' blow tingles and rampant horniness, equates to a good few hours of ;) . Down pretty good by the end of that.. can normally get a good four hours kip after that.

    :D

  9. As a lot of people have said .. it's best to go either mid July or mid September, if your going for the clubs. You'll hit either the opening parties or the closing parties and these are normally the best parties on the Island. www.ibiza-spotlight.com has a clubbing calendar which lists who's on and where (though its still showing 2003). Most people in the UK aim to organise things around when their fave DJ's on.

We went last year for the Defected opening party with Sandy Rivera, the Garlands opening and the Miss Moneypenny opening, together with Space on Sundays, DC10 and Manumission.

The only confirmed date so far is the Space opening which is the last Sunday in May - this coincides with a days holiday in the UK.

You may find it cheaper if you go via London. NYC - London isn't that expensive and you can book www.easyjet.com which goes to Ibiza from London Stansted. At the moment you are looking at a cost of $75 one way London to Ibiza. Only problem is you have to change airports - but you could always start your holiday with a bang and have a night in London (Ministry of Sound for example) to start your holiday.

I'd stay in Playa den Bossa again - though this year I would stay at Jet Apartments, which is next door to Bora Bora. Its not luxurious but its clean and the rooms are big by European standards - with air conditioning - which a lot of hotels DON'T have. Prices are very reasonable too.

Hiring a car would probably be an idea for a couple of days if you plan on seeing the island - but you don't need one for the whole time - the bus service is good and taxi's are metered and readily available. You can either pre-book and ring one - or find one at a taxi rank.

The clubs get going at around 3am and happily go on until 7am minimum - if your still going there is always Space!

Dress code depends on the night you go to - but its mainly casual - cool trainers and loose pants with a t-shirt or a shirt would be fine for most places. However for girls, a lot don't wear much at all.

    Have fun!

Hey bumpdaddy.. I'll be the first to admit we can be a little spoilt here with the choice that we regularly get - especially for House DJ's. :D The plan is to visit NYC more than anything.. and if there's a somewhere we can dance our ass's off mores the better!

    Cuban2.... - will PM you.. Thanks :)

  11. Hello everyone... :)

I have been pointed in your direction by friends... I'd be grateful for any club recommendations..

I've arranged a surprise trip to NY January 28 to Feburuary 4 for my other half and meeting up with a friend from Toronto .. and would love to hit a dancefloor whilst we are there. We both love soulful\funky house but are pretty flexible.. from noseying around, so far its looking likely for Danny Tenaglia will be on that weekend - but possibly missing Frankie Knuckles monthly residency. I believe I've also missed Roger Sanchez too.. Does anyone have any suggestions about where to go.. or anywhere that has some advance listings past NYE?

Also.. an idea of dress code for the club would be cool too - don't mind dressing up for an event (well to get past a door anyway :) but would prefer somewhere slightly more casual - ie designer jeans and trainers ok kind of place - rather than heels and make up still intact at 6am....

    Many thanks!!!!!

    All advice welcome :)
