Kicking the weekend off on Friday night at Mercury Lounge is long-time San Fran House legend Rick Preston. Spinning his vibe since the early 80’s, Rick, along with other Bay Area greats like Jeno, Garth, Mark Farina, Spun, and Julius Papp, has been putting on club nights and raves since the beginning, when the underground was at its strongest. While his DJ sets are mostly considered deep house, they are not limited to just the deep sound. Rick has a special flair for bringing together a multitude of genres to include tribal rhythms, tech-house, some latin textures, a classic track or two, or even a mind awakening spoken word. Since then the label that features a sound it calls “Urban Tropical†has released an unbelievably impressive collection of slamming hits from artists like Landshark, D’Boldiss, Pal Joey, and Sean Holland, and has been rocking the clubs from Barcelona to the Bay Area. Also killing the decks with Michael until the wee hours of the morning will be David Bishop from Fluid, Jason Alias and Slim, and a surprise Special Guest.
