I was at pacha the other day and I saw a white and black couple doing drugs. I was like "WTF!!! someone swore only asians did drugs". What is this world coming to.

parties have gone underground again. shitty parties full of guidos and jersey/long island crowds killed the scene. its better this way. let the guidos and clueless jersey/LI kids go to whatever they call this space...twilo, tunnel, whatever. they'll just think they're cool hanging in a place just cuz of the name. meanwhile, the parties they don't know about will be hoppin'.

beibng a DJ is NYC that is "mainstream" is not as tough if you are strictly house. NYC has 1000000 lounges and small clubs. If you play mainstream, there are a lot more opportunities.

Paul Woolford has got to be the best opener I've heard in a long time. He could have easily headlined.
Ali tore it up from beginning to end. He played hard, melodic and funky all at the same time.

NYC clubs have door policies. Look at Bungalow 8, they denied entry to Mark Cuban and his posse for some reason. There are tons of Asians at any of the clubs when famous electronica DJ's are featured. That being said if group of 6 asian dudes and 2 asian chicks tried to get into any of the lounges (Bed, etc) more then likely they would be turned away. Not because they are asian but because they are a group of dudes.
No one here is talking about being turned away because its a bunch of dudes. The topic is about being turned away because of your nationality.

I have nothing to say bad about CROBAR. Let them let in who ever they want to. I think people are getting spoiled with these clubs having a single line and anyone with an 21+ overf ID can get in as long as they wait on line for a few mins... When i think back to the days when i first started going out to clubs like Palladium, they were picking @ the door. there was a crowd of people standing by the the entrance and they choose who they wanted to let in the club. Crobar is not turning away asians from the club, maybe a few asians got dissed at the door probably from comming to the club dressed like dirtbags. I dont understand why people always try and make shit a racial thing when its not!!!! To the original post posted by SilverBull this goes for you. I meet you a few times and u seem like a cool guy, but there is no reason for you to try and start trouble with a great club like Crobar. This is what the club scene is about and you out of all people should know this since you say u have been clubbin for a long time. Hey, I'm asian. And that shit those asian zombies do bug the crap out of me too. It kills the vibe and I do whatever it takes not to associate with that crowd. I don't know what language they speak or how to speak it myself. So if you think I have some magical ability to speak to them, then you are mistaken.
I'm sick of getting kicked off a club line because I happen to be standing next to them.
But lets be fair as well, the meatheads who are all greased up on vaseline or something who walk around the club pushing people out of their ways with their oversized sweaty chests and biceps bug me more than a few zombified asians sitting in a dark corner.
Everyone has their thing. What bothers me may not bother you. Profiling people by race in entry into a club is just plain wrong. Period. I don't care how you slice it. Not only is it wrong morally, it is in fact actually illegal. Is it provable? Nope. But I can call the press, the asian community leads, my local representative in gov't and some noise could be made. Crobar will be watched over for a while and it just causes more headaches all around for not only crobar but for you and i as patrons.
It's just a dumb policy that doesn't do anything in the end. The cracked out asians will still be there. The shirtless greasy meatheads will still be there. This dumb policy only creates bad press, bad feelings and a bad rap altogether without solving anything.

i dont agree with ANY of your generalizations. Im saying crobar is allowed to have their policy & they can enforce it. Im not making any of their policy & Im not a bouncer there. but i do love that club & think its the best big NYC club since tunnel 10 years ago.

Whatever, this will make it to some asian-american union board and then they'll get the city and state involved, then cops will be sitting in front of crobar and give them all sorts of unrelated problems for a while.
