  1. What a night! Danny tore it up, showing us why he's the best DJ in the world. It's a bit of inspiration to see someone who's so talented and just so into what they're doing, even after all these years. Crowd was good, nice vibe goin on, hardly any mangled asians to deal with. Had to leave at 9, wish I could've stayed later. What time did it go til?????
  2. yes unknown people AND EJC collective (Justin: rip it SSiiCKK) are responsible for this email animalpromotions@gmail.com for list...
  3. watched it at work earlier. fuckin crakheads.
  4. Hey, I'm getting a coach bus (55 passenger) to Atlantic City leaving Saturday night (8 PM) and returning Sunday morning (8AM). The pickup and dropoff location is 25 Street and First Avenue (Hunter College Dorms). We did it last year and we're doing it again to celebrate my birthday. It was ANIMAL last year. The bus ride alone was worth it, with everyone smoking and drinking. We'll arrive at the Trump Taj Mahal and you'll have six hours to gamble/party. It's $30 with $15 back at the casino. So, it's ONLY $15. Still have a few seats open. Would be a great follow up to DT on Friday. Gonna be a crazy weekend. Anyway, if you're interested PM me as soon as possible. The crowd will be mostly college kids (young 20's). Everyone is good people and even if we don't know eachother, we're all down for meeting new people. AND I gaurantee that you will have a good time. girls, girls, girls. Thanks, Ron D. animalpromotions@gmail.com

  6. Definitely one of my favorite nights out in the city. Hector is gonna be nasty on his birthday. Can't Wait!! See everyone there.
  7. This is a little off topic, but your help is greatly appreciated. I'm throwing a school sponsored party at my college and we're giving away free beer. We have a budget of about $400 to spend on the beer. We don't want kegs, only cans. I'm trying to find a distributor in the city that'll deliver. Does anyone know of any place??? Help me out and I'll give you the info for the party. Free beer & House music!! Thanks.
  8. Nice list. Yes, march and april look to be good times here in the city. One you forgot, worth adding is, of course: March 4-Friday- Hector Romero/SULLIVAN ROOM Thanks.
  9. They should be open, its a holiday weekend. Dont see anything on their website. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Just chillin at work, listening to DT's Back to the Basics CD. I wanted to start a positive thread---one without typical the bashing of any DJ's, venues, parties, people that we so often see on this board. Everyone is entitled to their own opinons, but sometimes we lose focus. We should take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Despite all of our differences, we're all here because we LOVE this music. The music is the drug, it is art in every way shape and form. It is a means of understanding and interepreting life, and allows us for a moment to retreat from all the chaos and have a transcending experience. Just as life is a blessing, so is the music. Sorry for the long post, and NO I'm not a philosophy major or anything like that. I just wanted to share this with you. So, as an ode, if you will, to this music that means so much to us, feel free to write anything--- 1) how you're feeling 2) why you love this music 3) when you caught the house bug or anything else you want to share. There's no right or wrong. Thanks for your time. Respect. Peace & Love. Let's try to keep this thread going! Ron
  11. Silverbull, you're right the visuals on the wall were crazy. Again, I should've introduced myself to you. I was near the dj booth the whole night tearing it up with a few of my friends (the rockstar looking dude with the long hair and sideways hat and the very cute, but very tiny girl). Gabe, I'm Ron and I'll see you at the next party. Seems like every party I go to that you're at, I end up having a amazing time. I guess it's the energy or that you just bring in the hot girls (like that gorgeous, tall spanish chick you were dancing with). Take it easy.
  12. Got there early for the open bar. It didn't get packed til 1 but there was still room to dance. Sound was great. Music was amazing. Behrouz was nasty. AND I agree, the VIBE was how it should be. Everyone was having a great time, thanks for coming out. I'm glad I braved the weather and got my ass there. Sorry to those who couldn't make it. I wish Sullivan Room the best in 2005...they know what they're doing. Thanks.
  13. I see a few new afterhours parties have been announced in recent weeks. I'm a college student and I'm offering my services to anyone who needs help promoting. I am hard-working and responsible. I was born and raised in this city, have a keen sense of the state of nightlife as it is now, understand the politics involved in such and I'm confident I'd be a great addition to any team. If you are interested or have any questions PM me. Thanks for your time. Ron

  19. pass some info along please... much appreciated thanks.
  20. Thanks, I'll let u know how the paper turns out.
  21. Came across this book as I was doing research for a paper. Great read for anyone interested in the history of the music, the role of the DJ, the social and politcal aspects that gave rise to the underground dance movement in the city, as well as the communal nature of rippin it up in a club... Enjoy. "You Better Work!" Underground Dance Music in New York City Kai Fikentscher, Wesleyan University Press, 2000. Hey, at least I dont have a boring paper topic.
  22. Thanks silverbull. I always try to have fun no matter what. I've seen you at at the DT Roxy parties and a few weeks ago @ sullivan room for Hec Romero. Next time, I'll be more polite and introduce myself. And to give credit where credits due---U Fu**InG RiPP it up. And...that Asian girl u were dancing with at one point in the room near the bathrooms. She was hot and doing her damn thing. Good Shit. Looking forward to the next party. Anyway, before I get addicted to posting I HAVE to study for finals since god knows I haven't done any work this semester. But, hey. Why start now?
  23. I agree that when that space is packed it's hard to move around and have a good time. Unless ur a juicehead and have your own circle. It was definitely more comfortable in the other room near the bathrooms. Otherwise, good system and lighting. AND....Danny was ripping it up!!!! Hopefully more to come. Happy Holidays to ALL. ps- I'm new to the board and caught the DT bug when I first went to Arc about a month b4 it closed. Have pretty much been to all the made parties since. Allow me to introduce myself. My name's Ron and I'm a student/artist living in the city. Thanks.
