  1. Nope its not dead at all around there, but exactly where on Houston St. are you talking about, you have to narrow it down. And you need to do research on a location and check it out yourself before even considering. The type of bar you might want to open up might not fit in that area, so just go for yourself and find out, you cant let others tell you what its like
  2. Are you talking about the one in LI by Hofstra?
  3. BTW im a girl. Yeah I think something might have been goin on that night. I also saw half my neighborhood there, which was another bad thing lol. Yeah I might just give it another try. Plaid is pretty good. They have a real good mix of music. They do play house/techno, but also a pretty good amount of hip-hop, reggae and even rock music which really surprised me. Also alot of old skool stuff which i was happy about.
  4. Is this place the former Arena? If it is then there is plenty of parking.
  5. You know what, maybe I went on a bad night...Because Im telling you it was really, really crowded. I got there like at 1:00am, and the lines were insane, but somebody we were with got us right in, so luckily we didnt have to wait. The dancefloor was so crowded, you couldnt even get onto it. We did dance in the hip-hop room but you had such big crowds trying to get through it became really annoying, and we did have a big crowd with us. Lots of places have more spaces. For the past year Ive been sick of clubs, so Ive been going to bar/clubs such as sutton place, metro 53 for example. But Plaid is pretty good, ive had fun there and when I went it never got too crowded, culture club is like that too. And ive been going to LI spots lately Like I said maybe the night I went to Crobar was just a bad night to go. I was disappointed because everyone else had said how good it was. Who knows, maybe Ill decide to give it another try. Also the whole DJ thing doesnt work for me. Im not the biggest house/techno fan. Theres only so much of it I can take. I know lots of people go to clubs because of the techno dj's and all, but that really doesnt interest me at all.
  6. I dont know, maybe it was a big event the night I went. I kinda need to dance...I have been out a few times when I didnt dance, but thats usually at bars and youre just hanging out and talking to people.
  7. Exactly!!! I dont want to search the whole club for a spot where I can dance. I really dont think Ill go back.
  8. They played more house when i went. And dont forget that not everyone is that into house, theres only so much I can take of it. They played a good mix of everything. And dont say it would ruin most peoples night, cause theres plenty of people I know who cant stand house.
  9. Dont get me wrong, the place looks real nice and all but that alone wont make something good. I spent most of my night, just trying to move from one spot to another, and that was a mission in it self. It is so crowded, and you have to push your way through to get from one room to another. Then when you finally find a spot and try to dance, you keep having to stop just so that you can move over for others to get through. When I go out, I like to dance most of the night, and at Crobar I really was not able to do that. This is a club that i wouldve loved when i was like 15-16. But im over these type of places, ive done all this already when i was a teenager. Some people just go to places only because it is a hot spot and want to be seen there. And the lines outside are insane, I cant believe some people wait that long to get into a place lol. If it wasnt for somebody getting us right into Crobar, theres no way id wait on a line that big
  10. IMO crobar is over-rated
  11. no i meant there was never a gotti appearance while i was there.
  12. lol never while ive been there lol
  13. I will admit that yes it doesn't look all that great. But for girls theres a plus side, theres a great ratio of hott guys there, more so than most places, even the male bartenders there are hott. It is definitely not for everyone. Its a very big college crowd, because it is like down the block from Hofstra dorms.
  14. Sorry but it is definitely not one of the nicest places in NYC. Its not even that big, pretty small actually. Plus its a very high school crowd. And yeah Angelo Venuto is ALWAYS there. Ive seen him there I dont know how many times. It can be ok sometimes i guess. I think people who are not from Astoria would enjoy it more
