  1. Hello Everyone, I wouldn't post this if it wasn't really urgent. When I was in possession of my used 1988 Cougar [V6 3.8L], my AOD transmission started slipped slipping. So I followed the information from the link below to do a completely switch my AOD to an AOD-E from a 95 Mustang. http://www.coolcats.net/tech/advanced/transmission_swap.html After purchasing a my 1995 Mustang transmission, the shift kit from [Transmission Exchange $600], and the TCS w/ full harness from Baumann Electronic Controls, my car was completely smashed in an unfortunate accident. So I'm completely stuck with all of this equipment [still in it's original box]. All of this equipment cost over $1200, but I'm asking for only $800. I'm located in Lafayette, Indiana, and if anyone is interested in meeting up, sending pictures, or whatever, please give me a call at (765)532-2941 or email me ddrive79@hotmail.com ASAP. Any help is definitely appreciated. [transmission information] AOD/C3/C5 to AOD-E This is becoming a popular swap amongst the Mustang crowd. The AOD-E is a partially-electronic AOD, in a nutshell. There is a separate computer that governs the shifting, via a shift solenoid on the outside of the transmission. The Mustang from 1994-95, and the Cougar/T-Bird from 1991-93 has the AOD-E that will fit either the 3.8 V6 or 5.0 V8. The good news with the AOD-E is that the aftermarket has really warmed up to it. In every place I've looked, the AOD-E is always favored over the AOD because of the electronic capabilities. You can get reprogramming kits for this transmission, as well as shift kits that work in conjunction---major plusses. Also, the AOD-E has much stronger internal components, something the AOD never had. Now obviously there's going to be some extra wiring involved with this swap. But everyone that's done it loves it. Keep in mind that since this is a relatively "new" transmission, it's going to cost you. For more information about an AOD-E swap, visit http://www.baumannengineering.com
