  2. GET PHYSICAL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR KICKING OFF AT WMC ***For Immediate Release*** Dance music’s seminal label Get Physical, launches a groundbreaking North American Tour that plans to make an enormous impact on the music landscape. The sound of Get Physical goes on the road this spring rock and roll style, with 2 of its shiniest stars M.A.N.D.Y. and Heidi playing at every show. Exciting British/Italian production duo Audiofly will be joining the tour from May 5th – May 10th while the phenomenal Booka Shade (who are releasing their third artist album ‘The Sun and the Neon Light’ on May 24th) will also be guesting on April 24th @ Mezzanine, San Francisco. The land mark tour kicks off in spectacular form in Miami on March 27th @ Studio A with a mind-blowing line up including M.A.N.D.Y., Heidi, Tiefshwarz, Junior Boys, Noze and Italoboyz. Beatport is on board as the title sponsor and will be offering special Get Physical download packages at each tour date. Philipp from M.A.N.D.Y. comments: “I’m so looking forward to seeing what America is really like and I can’t wait to give North America the real taste of Berlin. On a personal level it’s a total dream for a DJ to be able to take the road and tour in this way. Let’s get started!†The opening party is a repeat of the WMC showcase which was both sold-out and the most talked about event of 2007 featuring M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade, Heidi, Claude Vonstroke, Jesse Rose and Dixon. The rest of this tour follows with a similarly impressive host of treats including conceptual visuals and décor; thus bringing the true Get Physical European vibe to America for the first time. Get Physical usually reserves events of this scale for the likes of Sonar in Barcelona and Watergate in Berlin. A tour of this magnitude proves Get Physical is at the pinnacle of new wave, cutting edge labels. Achieving something unique it retains the independent vibe while effortless bridging the gap with the hipster kids and the fanatical dance followers, pioneering the way for the next generation of dance music fans and stars alike. With acts such as M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade, DJ T, Samim and Heidi signed to its roster Get Physical is often home to some of the biggest tracks at any given moment. After launching at WMC there are 15 dates over a short space of time with intense touring from late April until mid-May. Part of this extravaganza’s ground will be covered on a tour bus. Following the tour will be the usual media circus and dedicated M.A.N.D.Y. admirers that seem to surround them at every turn. M.A.N.D.Y, Heidi and co will be playing to over 20,000 people in the duration of the tour. You can get tales from the road, updated blogs and pictures at www.getphysicaltour.com 27th March – Miami @ Studio A 23rd April – Las Vegas @ The Hard Rock 25th April – San Francisco @ Mezzaine 26th April – Los Angeles @ Avalon 30th April – Guatemala City @ Play Zone 1st May - Puebla @ Las Bodegas Del Molindo (Mexico) 2nd May – CD Juarez @ Hardpop (Mexico) 3rd May – Denver @ Beta 4thMay – Boston @ Underbar 5th May - Washington DC @ Fur 6th May – Philadelphia @ Woody’s 7th May – Toronto @ The Social 8th May – Montreal @ Tribe 9th May – New York @ Studio B 10th May – Chicago @ Vision ARTIST INFO: M.A.N.D.Y.’s story begins on a tennis court in Saarbrücken, near the German-French border. That’s where Patrick Bodmer met Philipp Jung on a summer’s day over twenty years ago. They grew to become great friends, and together dreamt of a way to make a living out of their shared loves: collecting records, throwing parties, FRIENDS, girls and laughter. Alas, these idle plans soon had to make way for sensible adult concerns and they parted ways. At 25 Patrick and Philipp were reunited in Frankfurt, then the hub of Germany’s flourishing house and techno scene. The pair consumed music, raved and span records at every opportunity. DJ T and Patrik (The Sunsetpeople), from Frankfurt’s Monza club, heard them play at a party. The four became close friends and M.A.N.D.Y started a residency at Monza in 2001. M.A.N.D.Y. decided to found a label with their friends Booka Shade and DJ T, utilising the talent of their circle of close friends. They called it Get Physical: in tribute to the dancefloor; in memory of their meeting; and for their love of disco, with a nod to Olivia Newton-John. Get Physical was born of pure desire, the need to create something tangible out of a lifelong passion. In 2002, M.A.N.D.Y.and Booka Shade moved to Berlin seeking a new creative kick. What they found was a confluence of artists and ideas, and a constant shower of music to immerse themselves in and be inspired by. Over the past five years M.A.N.D.Y. have come into their own as artists and DJs. Mixing the first Get Physical label compilation in 2004 sent their sound beyond Europe, but it was the 2005 collaboration with Booka Shade, ‘Body Language’, which sealed their reputation: the track became a bona fide anthem across the globe. M.A.N.D.Y may be busier than ever but their remit stays the same. This isn’t a job and it isn’t about success; it’s about partnership and friendship and a realisation that dreams can come true. It’s about seriously good music, and it’s still about those things which bonded them in the first place: collecting records, throwing parties, friends and laughter… Canadian born Heidi grew up in Windsor Ontario just across the border from Detroit. The music scenes of the Motor City and Chicago left a deep impression on Heidi and her record collection. Moving to England for a year in 1997 her eyes were opened even wider to the joys of underground dance music. She moved to London permanently in 2000 and in 2003 was part of the team that opened up London's foremost record shop, Phonica. In 2004 she met Patrick Bodmer and Phillip Jung (aka M.A.N.D.Y.) They became great friends and it soon lead to gigs together in Berlin. In 2005 Heidi started playing all over Europe and Russia with regular visits to Italy, Spain, France and Germany where she plays regularly in Berlin at the Panorama bar and Watergate club. For Monza club she holds residencies in Frankfurt and Ibiza. She also became a regular at Fabric. In 2006 Heidi produced her first release "Vejer" on Get Physical, a track she made with Riton. 2007 was the year that really shaped Heidi as a DJ. She was playing all over the world including at WMC and a ‘5 years of Get Physical European tour’ which saw her playing alongside Booka Shade, M.A.N.D.Y, DJ T. and the rest of the gang. As well as releasing another track with Riton "To The Gum". Heidi is currently working on an album for Get Physical. Keep a close eye on this lady. Booka Shade are at the forefront of contemporary dance music - their DJ Kicks album in 2007 was acclaimed by many as the best compilation of the year (DJ Mag and Mixmag # 1 and 2 respectively). This year is going to be a huge and hectic one for them as they’ve just released their ‘Movements Tour Edition’, which comprises the original 2006 hit album Movements together with a new live DVD, We Came To Dance, featuring a full live show filmed at Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival last year. The band unveil a new single in May, followed by a brand new studio album titled ‘The Sun and the Neon Light’. Following a chance meeting of two aspiring DJ/producers, Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito, back in 2002, Audiofly was born. Now, years later this Anglo-Italian double act have developed into one of the hottest underground house and techno acts on the global circuit. They have collaborated with the likes of Steve Lawler and Satoshi Tomiie and their long awaited album is now well on the way to completion… M.A.N.D.Y. - www.myspace.com/getmandy Heidi - http://profile.myspace.com/36121775 Booka Shade - www.myspace.com/getbookashade Audiofly - http://www.myspace.com/audioflymuzik • Latest Get Physical Release News: Body Language Six, Mixed by Junior Boys is out soon!
