  1. JUNKIE XL

    true story:

Saw him at Crobar NYC on a Friday a while back.

LOL....So he's 'performing' on stage with his laptop and all his keyboard gear and was obviously having major issues, because the music completely stopped at least 3 times.

One minute he's playing some melodic prog tune waiving to the crowd smiling....then BAM silence... then he's looking down at his laptop in disgust trying to figure out what was wrong with it. About 30-60 seconds later BAAAAM full on peak hour Armin Van Buren type trance tune comes on FULL BLAST right in the middle...synths galore. LOL....He proceeds to do the Oakenfold "I am god" arm spread.

    what a joke.....NEVER AGAIN

    :biggun:

  2. I go to clubs to have a good time and support Nyc house dj. I do not support clubs thats all about bootle service and table resevation. Even southbeach nightclubs tis all about that and Nyc clubs during it too.City of Miami is opening up NYc clubs like twilo and soundfactory and its not about bootle service its all about the music and Dj. Nyc clubs should do the same. Clubs in NYc is about House music and people supporting house and people in the biz. Thats why Pacha and Corbar or so successful. Spirit is a joke . Nypd keep shutting it down. NYc clubs have to stop catering to eighteen parties especailly on sat nights.

    bootle

  3. the electro house was terrible. I remember him asking 'i bet you wonder where i get my music from- no not really, not that track.

what's this new mentality that a few hours of inconsistent music can be turned around with two big tech house edits?

To me it's arrogant. Good tech house music needs to be built up. And if you notice the dance floor, it's filled with people that would dance to anything.

All the people that i knew, that really know music, we're on the sidelines waiting for the music to get good. Most people i knew bailed out around 11:00.

Danny to me always had great sideways music. Building block music. No buildups- just good tech house. After an hour or two, he would unleash a tech house bomb and the place would go crazy. Now around 9:00 danny starts playing his big edits, which are starting to remind me of eric morillo. I used to love these long protracted edits, but they are too much the same formula- with the same buildup, etc. I also used to love those big iberican tribal tracks- which sorry to say are just plain tired.

I think Danny needs to go back to the basics-- find all of those great tracks that keep you going on the dancefloor with good music- good beats. No more tricks. No more 9:00 a.m.-- "let's drop four or five 20 minute super tech house edits".

It's all getting too predictable. Good sets are about consistency which takes patience and time. Some of these shows are more like reunion gimmick parties. And the real DT fans are definitely noticing.

Someone said to me sat night, that it's coming down to one DT party a year at the conference which is definitely worth checking out- the rest is just the side show. Sorry to say, I'm starting to agree with that.

I'll always have luv for DT ....but I have to agree

  4. I had a great time, I just wasnt feelin TKC at all. Me and everyone I was with were all lookin at our watches, waiting for VC to come on. I dont like those trippy beats. There not for me.

Hey.....everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Me and everyone I was with were on the dance floor almost the entire time during his set. The floor was packed and everyone seemed to be loving it and going nuts!

I love Victor ...I have for years (cough cough Roxy...lol...omg...another story) but this party is just what NYC needed. A true cutting edge underground event (for the die-hards...gay-straight-black-white whatever it doesnt matter as long as you love the music) btw--It's all about the mixed crowd...makes it special.

Victor chooses to bring in these guest dj's for a reason...I guess it's the same reason he calls the party EVOLVE.

I'm already looking forward to the next one!

    luv the beats

  5. Well when you open up the room, any good DJ knows you cant just start droppin bombs, the 1st hour is to get the room warm, then you break out the atomic bombs. I got there at 2, and Richie was killin it. From 2-4 he dropped bombs man. TKC came on, and brought the energy down, and in my opinion killed the great Vibe Richie had set up. He played the same kinda crap that Vibe played at pacha. Those trippy beats. I tried to get into it, but I just dont like it. Besides for that Madonna - Music remix. That shit was fuckin Bananas. Then Calderone came on, and WOW does that guy drop tribal bomb after tribal bomb. If anyone knows the id on that one track he played with the one sax note, please let me know. Track was INSAINE.

O, and how bout that I got the power remix Richie dropped at like 330 that made the crobar roof blow off!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you diss TKC and DJ Vibe??? These guys are masters at what they do.

Richie, TKC and Vic...all killed that room.

One of the best parties in a long long time.

    end of story

  6. Victor will be going on early Sat. night due to the fact that the club has to close by 10am sharp Sunday.

The promoter from Alegria has a contract that allows them to start "setting up" by 11am for this Sunday nights Alegria party.

    thats whats up.

$80 a head to do the cha cha in the gay tourist conga line... yay!

ps- I'm very bored...it's friday...when is this day gonna end

  7. hamptons is nyc on vacation

someone said that his management was trying to book him at tavern. that would be the only spot i could really see him...although his vocals anthems would go good at neptunes..but his crowd would not be welcomed

agreed ...his sound is to gay circuit commercial...very late 90's ish

    IMO

  8. INSANE*****PARTY.

Crobar is a whole different club when it's Victors night. The gays replace the cheesy crowd....I guees. I don't think I can go back there on a regular night. I got there @ about 1am just in time for TKC's set. WOW! The crowd was loving it. Music was on fire...non stop...rollercoaster ride. Victor came on at a little before 6am. By this time the gay crowd started to take over the dancefloor. By 8am the entire upstairs was packed with straight people and the entire dancefloor was gay. LOLOL!!

Victor's set was relentless...EVIL...tribal tech..."LET ME SET YOU FREE"...just killing those beats!! Fantastic party 10/10** The music blew me away. I have videos to post hopefully. Very hazy today even though I slept for 16 hours!

    LOL...These pictures are absolutely hillarious!!!

In this day and age "The Guido" really has little or nothing to do with actual Italian heritage. "Guido" is a state of mind..you can find Irish, Jewish, Spanish and even Hindu Guidos floating around the clubs of NJ and NY. They travel in herds and have limited comunication skills.
