your best bet is either crobar or pacha... they usually have pretty decent people headlining.
if you're looking for something more upscale, i'd say go with marquee, gypsy tea or nikki midtown.
sullivan room is really good for music too..

Nikki Midtown.
I had my birthday there about two weeks ago. The place is GORGEOUS, it's bottle service only (you can't just go in for a few drinks, they don't serve them) bottles range from $200-$4000... the main room is beautiful, very well lit, the setup is amazing, elegant, all white couches.. and djing on saturdays is Armand Pena. guy is out of this world, he sold me the first night, one of the greater sets I've heard in months.

Ahhh it's impossible to throw a party there...the place is TOO BIG..and because of the bubble the sound is not that good, so you can barely hear the music in there
otherwise the place is really nice, I wish it was more popular because I feel like it's going to waste
how is the place set up, is the actually bowling alley and the lounge on the same floor? ive only seen the pics on the website, but the lounge looks ridic

im def about trying to find new things to do... this place sounds dope, def gonna try and go soon. cept i dunno if i can bowl with my nails done?
new roc city they have something fun like what you mentioned FF... it's got the IMAX theater, indoor mini golf, buncha restaurants, arcades, they have some crazy rocket ride that shoots through the roof of the building.. bowling.
they should def make more playgrounds for adults

i was thinking about switching it up and going to that bowling alley/lounge called pressure. place looks ridic, but has anyone ever been? i see ads for it all the time in new york mag.
