  21. The first party at Kush Lounge was a great success. What an overwhelming and enjoyable response. Thanks to all who made it out! NYC's best and longest running Sunday party, Le Souk Sunday Sessions, has found itself a new home at Kush Lounge. While Le Souk is under construction the world famous phenomenon known to many as Sunday Sessions will be graciously hosted by Kush Lounge. Sunday Sessions has moved but the players remain the same, including resident DJ and founding partner Gaby Dershin. Sunday Sessions has always been about the vibe, made up of good friends and good music. Those same ingredients will continue to be the foundation of the party. House music all night long, plus great guest DJ appearances you've come to know and love will fuel the evening's fire. There will of course be Hookahs, Sangria, plenty of tables, two full bars and optional bottle service. The staff at Kush are welcoming and accommodating and Kush definitely has that sexy new venue feel within a classic yet current design. The layout comes complete with lots of cozy nooks and crannies to explore! Come join us for Sunday Sessions at KUSH ! Born David Banks, music is in DJ Disciple’s blood. Disciple has climbed to the top rung of the house music ladder, with DJ residencies all over the world, a faithful following of fans that live for his inspired journeys, and respect from Pete Tong and BBC Radio 1 to MTV Europe. Averaging 50 clubs a year for the past decade, when he’s not in the DJ booth he remains focused on his label Catch 22. Disciple’s 2006 Ibiza smash hit “Work It Out†was licensed by Universal’s House-Trained records in the UK and featured on Radio One and MTV. In 2007 Catch 22 Recording’s “Changes,†collaboration between David Tort, DJ Ruff and Disciple, was a massive club hit and appeared on several high profile compilations, including Ministry Of Sound, Erick Morillio’s Subliminal Sessions, Club Azuli (Space), and Pacha Ibiza 2007. And if that wasn’t enough, DJ Disciple was nominated for Beatport’s Artist of the Year in 2008. Disciple continues to look ahead, determined to push his music forward. This year will find DJ Disciple unite with new talents Tom De Neef, Bryan Dalton and Prok & Fitch for new releases, while still continuing to expose other new talents on Catch 22. Fueled by his limitless passion for dance music and spirituality, DJ Disciple is an anomaly; he can throw down at the fiercest underground club, or rock a room of champagne drinking hipsters. Having witnessed so much history and musical trends during his years behind the decks, his thirst for good music remains unquenchable. In Disciple’s own words: "It’s important to remember that DJing made me what I am and that's always the first for me. I see dance music changing, it can't stay the way it is, and I aim to change with it. You have to. Ultimately, if you love and understand music, you'll know that it’s fluid, forever flowing and forever changing. It's wonderful to embrace that, go with the flow always be original and always be yourself." 23. To Friends & Family, to lovers of Le Souk, and to those who can actually go out on Sunday nights, NYC's best and longest running Sunday party, Le Souk Sunday Sessions, has found itself a new home. Since Le Souk has unexpectedly closed, the world famous phenomenon known to many as Sunday Sessions will now graciously be hosted by Kush Lounge. Sunday Sessions is relocating but the players remain the same, including resident DJ and founding partner Gaby Dershin. Joining him this week will be fellow Le Souk resident DJ, Alex Chang, along w/ Special Guest, Lance Jordan. The energy and classic elements of Sunday Sessions will carry on along with several new additions. The main strength of the Sunday Sessions party has always been the vibe, made up of good friends and good music. Those same ingredients will continue to be the foundation of the party. House music all night long, plus great guest DJ appearances you've come to know and love, will fuel the evening's fire. There will of course be Hookahs, plenty of tables, two full bars, VIP area and optional bottle service. The staff at Kush are very welcoming and accommodating and Kush definitely has that sexy new venue feel within a classic and current design concept. Come join us in being part of the new history this Sunday! *Sunday March 15th *Featuring music by Gaby Dershin, Alex Chang & Special Guest DJ, Lance Jordan! *Kush Lounge: 191 Chrystie Street - (between Rivington/Stanton, directly next door to The Box). *Complimentary Admission all night long *Doors open at 10pm *Reservations call 212-677-7328 A little about Kush in their own words: Arising like an oasis at the crossroads of the Lower East Side, behind an Arabesque facade on Chrystie Street, Kush is quickly becoming a seductive playground of nightlife fantasies. Inside this mystic establishment guests enjoy an ornamental garden of Moorish arches, rich with Indian woodwork and intricate Moroccan tile. Kush is a true urban explorer's Kasbah, lingering somewhere between myth and reality. Entertaining private rendezvous and hookah-smoking aficionados, Kush is an endless maze of hidden quarters, silhouetted by the warm glow of countless lanterns on desert colored walls, to be discovered by wandering guests destined for intimate dalliances and illicit affairs. Originally a bar on Orchard Street famous for its sexy ambiance and international crowd, Kush's popularity required a larger venue space to accommodate and better serve their growing client base. This Moroccan sanctuary was reborn as a full-scale lounge and event space just a stone's throw away from the original location. Come and experience for yourself what all the buzz is about! Design & Layout: Designer Monika O'Neal wanted to marry her love for modern lines and lighting with their fascination with North African architecture and world culture. The result is a wandering, curvaceous, candlelit space that seems to always draw one deeper and deeper into its secret salons and arched alcoves gently lit with lanterns and ethnic statuettes. Three main areas connect and flow seamlessly together and are adjoined by alcoves nestled in the corners, creating a sense of open space, while at the same time retaining the warmth and intimacy of each section.
