  1. Since when is Gera from NYC? I thought he was from New Haven? I agree. The Russian DJs are really making an impact these days around here, especially Boris and Serge Devant.
  2. Now there are some memories! Velvet and System. Anyone here remember those days? I remember the laser at Velvet.
  3. This one's for Kashif. I came down, but obviously, did not introduce myself to you because of your threat of throwing me out. I went against my word and the curiosity got the best of me, so I spent my money and came down to the event. And don't get offended, but here is my honest review of things. While I am all for people throwing parties in different locations, I honestly think this was a very bad choice. The Hilton is without a doubt one of downtown Hartford's nicest hotels. The lobby is very swank, the 315 bar is cool and it has a NY botique hotel feel to it. However, the party itself was a disaster. For starters, the dancefloor was all carpet. How can you dance on this? Wasn't easy and a lot of people I spoke with complained about this. Apparently, I wasn't alone. What happened to the sound system? Either the noise complaints from hotel guests affected the volume or the DJ blew it. All I know is I trekked myself to the bathroom and came back in and it was significantly lower. Not that I want to go deaf, but loud music is what gets people into it. I missed most of Silverio's set, but from what I caught I enjoyed. Austin was such a great DJ, but I felt bad for him. I left the event at 1:20 or so, but up until that time, hardly anyone was dancing. The most I ever saw was maybe 20 - 25 people on the dancefloor. He was playing some great music, but I was embarassed by the crowd's reaction. Hardly anyone was dancing. I was one of the 25 out there, but it was just a weird, wedding like feeling to the room which obviously scared a lot of people away from dancing. My suggestion is get another ballroom that's better, or move these out of the Hilton. They're not "friendly" environments for nightclubbing. Between the bar being outside of the main room and the bathrooms so far away, it just wasn't conducive to keeping people together. From the looks of it, maybe 175 - 200 people were there and at any given time, people were spread out all over the place. I enjoyed the music a lot, but I was not impressed with the setup. I'm sure I will be bashed for this, but take it as a suggestion. Until next time, Antoine
  4. Great party! I always have faith that Boramusic parties are the best. I haven't been to one since Deep Dish, but this one certainly lived up to my expectations. I've heard lots of good things about Donald Glaude, but have never seen him DJ. He's definitely a show. Screaming, cheering and getting the crowd hyped up. Loved it! The best thing about these parties is the intimacy of Room 960 and crowd. I've never seen so many good looking women. LOL, sorry I had to, just an observation. Great time and my friends and I are counting down until Gabriel & Dresden!!!!!!
  5. I was at 960 this Friday for Donald Glaude and what a time! Donald did a great job and Kered absolutely killed it and had the place going mental. Big props to Boramusic for a great party. Lots of people talking about Dirty. Who else is with me?
  6. idiots. these jokers think that this is an effective way to promote hartford nightlife. while it is all amusing to "some", it's actually quite disturbing to see two grown men making up screen names as a so-called marketing technique. this, my friends, is destructive to the scene as a whole and, ultimately, you. chomp on that ladies!
  7. oh i'm sorry, i didn't realize that this was a promoter's forum. as someone who goes out in hartford, i like to visit clubplanet.com from time to time to see what's going on in the area. i'll be more careful next time.
  8. kashif - so you want me to introduce myself to you so i can get kicked out? too funny. you're an embarassment and your pseudo-mafioso attitude will get you no where fast. especially in this business. in fact, nix that idea of me and my friends coming to the party. i'd rather save my money to go to an event that's not run by a creep like you. you've shown your true colors my friend, congrats. all i was saying is that i am not the first to notice a massive number of views for anything yourhartford is involved in. i received the emails from yourhartford.com and the links go to yourhartford.com, not clubplanet.com. so sue me for expressing my opinion in this forum!
  9. looks like i hit a sensitive spot with kashif! calm down my brotha, you're making a fool of yourself among 1,300 or so viewers. look, there is a way to increase the forum visits, and i'm not about to get into computer science talk about it all. forums register visits based on number of VIEWS, not by registering the UNIQUE VISITS by individual IP addresses. sorry, but i have to call you out on that one. glad you're bringing some good names to downtown. i've been going out for ages in hartford, and this is the best i've seen it. i only hope the promoters in this city learn to work together rather than against one another. hartford is small and any sort of divide would not be good. see you on the 30th kashif, and yes, i will come up and say hi to you. antoine
  10. my turn to chime in after being amused by the mindless banter in this forum, all of which has absolutely nothing to do with a talented dj coming to hartford, and more to do with like there's "something to prove" i too notice that ANYTHING yourhartford is involved in, the forum numbers are unusually higher than anything or everything going on in the entire forum. shear coincidence, or a game of "let's increase the number of forum visits to create a sense of hype"? you be the judge. truthfully, i pity the people who have to sit behind false screen names and intentionally bump up the number of views. let the party speak for itself and quit the nonsense. see you on the 30th. antoine
  11. nice. sounds like this will be a fun night. from the looks of the flyer, i see kered in there. hopefully it's him for this night. i've heard him play some unbelievable sets lately. nasty! looking forward to this night. dirty is good!! -antoine
  12. stereo production guys are solid. this looks like a pete tha zouk booking. not too shabby. is this going to be another hilton event? -antoine
  13. i agree. the work that goes into any event is very hard. i give lots of credit and huge amounts of respect to people like boramusic, yourhartford and room 960 for putting their necks on the line to pretty much bring in world class talent to hartford. but i will disagree with you on that. the flyer speaks for itself. none of it was deceptive. i think this will clear things up!
  14. I hear you, but in defense of the Deep Dish show, it was never advertised as Deep Dish. It was clearly promoted as Sharam from Deep Dish and/or Deep Dish featuring Sharam. Now if we can only get Tiesto to come to Hartford. Now that would ROCK!! Would be the coolest freaking event ever.
  15. allow me to entertain. while i am in support of great things happening in hartford, i have to admit that creating controversy, schisms, or rivalries is not productive in any way. hartford is far too small of a city to get nasty in. it doesn't help anyone. just keep on doing what you do and give it your best. despite what people may say, the hilton could be a cool venue and can be transformed into something different for the night. and to the yourhartford.com people, you have to realize you simply cannot please everyone. don't get offended if someone offers criticism or shouts out their complaints. i'm pointing out the so-called "yacht" party. while i admit it was a bit deceptive to advertise it as a yacht, you took a cool concept that works time and time again in nyc and boston and did it here in hartford. bravo. but keep is simple and honest. no one likes to be mislead. there's a very big difference between 'hype' and outright lies. anyhow, best of luck on the 30th. looks like it will be a wild weekend of nightlife in hartford with boramusic.com on sept 29th bringing in donald glaude and then austin leeds on the 30th with yourhartford.com cheers. antoine
