  5. i know you guys didnt claim that and i do respect what you are doing.
  6. i realy beg to differ about 960 being the originators of the go go dance scene...lol we been doing it for over years in the rave scene. Therapy in RI been doing it for just as long as well. Butterfly girls have nothing on Suiside Girls, Vicarious Girls or the Bad Ass Bitches.
  7. in my opinion i don't think that some of these go go dancers are worth their price but how ever they dance there ass off and get the people going on the floor. i do think they should be clothed a little more. maybe look a little less slutty. maybe they should also work on a dance choreography so the appear more professional.
  8. APRIL 14 2007 COLUMNS OF KNOWLEDGE PRESENTS :::::: MAIN ROOM :::::: SERGE DEVANT (Ultra Records, Crobar, www.sergedevant.com, myspace.com/sergedevant, NYC) When you're sitting as number 81 in the world (DJ Magazine) and personally hand picked to share the stage with the worlds top DJs , including being tagged by DJ Tiesto himself to open and close for him in NYC, youve got something. Now armed with his new residency at Crobar, what he has is your attention. Hear him perform and you will witness a skillful exhibition from one of the most promising young talents in the electronic industry todaywe are talking about Serge Devant. Before coming to America, as a child, Serge always had music infused into his daily life. His parents were deeply routed in the art community and enrolled Serge in music education at a young age. When he came to New York, it was the legendary club Twilo in the late nineties that inspired him to pursue his current quest. The atmosphere, the energy of Twilo was a big influence on me in the late 90s hearing different DJs from Europe Serge recalls. He started DJ'ing locally and that eventually led to production. Channeling his immense musical background and combining it with his new found love for electronic music he began creating works that got attention. One of the people to spot Serge's talent was top trance diva vocalist Jan Johnston. Known for her works collaborating with the likes of BT, Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto, she was immediately impressed with Serges potential. In 2004 they got together to create the single Transparent which was signed to Armin Van Buren's label Armada. The record was licensed and appeared on numerous compilations. The well respected UK label, Lost Language then sought out Serges ability for a string of singles. He completed mixes for Tilt and Lustral and released 3 vinyl EPs. With this success, Lost Language asked him to mix their prestigious series of compilations under the name Exhibition 3. Exhibition 3 hit the stores in November of 2005 and included 3 CDs. In early 2005, Crobar, one of the largest, most modern and award-winning clubs in North America, requested Serge to play with Tiesto. A few gigs after that and Serge became the clubs youngest resident DJ. To this day, Tiesto personally requests Serge to play with him each and every time he visits NYC. Now, Serge frequently shares the stage with half a dozen more of the worlds DJ elite. The new exposure allowed him to catch the eye of another talented diva, former Iio lead singer Nadia Ali. Nadia, being impressed with Serges classical training, asked him to work on her upcoming album as well as some tour dates, lending his piano skills during performances. Serge gladly accepted the opportunity to express his abilities not only as a DJ but as a musician on stage. This is where Serge Devant is different. His works are stylistically diverse, transcending the boundaries of electronic music and breaking the barriers of expression. He's been quoted as saying: "I get bored of doing the same style of music very quickly and usually when I sit down in the studio... I just start making what feels right at the moment... a certain bass line, guitar or chord progression could take my record anywhere and I let it take me there, and see what happens at the end". The result: A hard-hitting, riveting but classically beautiful sound that is way more than just electronic. So sit back and enjoy the ride! Welcome to the music of Serge Devant. KNOWLEDGE (myspace.com/djknowledge, www.columnsofknowledge.com, CT) Inspired to dj in April 1995, Knowledge... began a journey of electronic dance music performance. Knowledge began performing for local audience by kicking his public performance career off @ Shrine held in April 1996 by the Nature Boyz in Stamford, CT. Following this gig he slowly began building a fanbase around his unique blend of many styles. Over a period of many years he cultivated this sound and slowly began also playing harder music around 2000. Taking inspiration from Frankie Bones, Nigel Richards, T-1000, Josh Wink, and Scott Henry his style continued to evolve. His first flown gig was for his friend Chris Irvin in Colorado. During this trip with his then fiance Kellie, he visited the legendary Red Rocks. Continuing his travels, he visited Detroit, Chicago, Hollywood, the entire east coast, and more... His style kicked into high gear when the uk hardhouse/hard nrg movement became popular. In 2002 at a house party thrown by his long-time friend Greg Schroder he began formulating the ideas for Columns of Knowledge Recordings. During this time his style changed again as his friendship with James Miller Junior solidified and he began performing more hard electro house and funky techno. Traveling to Poland, Canada, all over the USA into 2004 his style evolved and MATURED. Electro-clash, nu skool breaks, and other funky elements found their way into the mix. Today Knowledge is more focused than ever... with 2 licensed cds released, 3 12inches, new directions in music, a motivated forward thinking attitude and positivity bursting in every direction there is no stopping KNOWLEDGE. ROCKSTEADY (Volume, Vicarious, TechnoDrome, myspace.com/djrocksteady, RI) A Providence favorite, Rocksteady has been playing parties all over the eastern seaboard for the past 4 years. He has held down 3 different residences and played numerous rave-style events, as well as playing many after-hours events at Therapy in Providence. Currently, he has been in the studio honing his technique, and aims to have some productions released in the near future. DAN DE SUMTHIN (Volume Productiosn, Funky Communications, HeadSpin) Dan has a wide selection of musical tastes; he has spun all different types of music, speed garage, new/old school breaks, drum and bass, underground hip-hop, trip-hop, French house, disco house, and swing house. While he can hang in almost any genre, house is definitively the dominant sound in his collection... and he prides himself in injecting an 80's element in his music, allowing him to stand out from the rest. JEFF HYDE (Candy FlipT, myspace.com/jeffhyde) NH music link: http://waxdj.com/djs/3923/ Since making his debut in 2005, with one of the hottest parties of the year, A NEW DAWN. Jeff Hyde has firmly entrenched himself in the New England electronic dance scene. With solid performances throughout the past two years, a love for bass, and a growing desire to throw unique events, Hyde has caught the eye of many, surprised most, and is looking for some new territory to feast on. 9. Astro & Glyde site is sick its like ruming aroung the neiborhood and rocking out. sick downloads too!
  10. this just happends to be one of my favorite days of the year.
  11. yeah here is the link http://bbs.clubplanet.com/music-media/323856-dj-cave-electro-revolution-mix.html just to for warn you I made it very comercial to bring new peeple in to the scene. its not typicaly what i would want to play but its done well. listen to how long i keep the mixes in. its all vocal tracks because thats what most people want to hear at mainstreem clubs. ultimatly i want to play more underground house, breaks, drum n bass. and my ultimate goal is to be an all around dj.
  12. when things get big enough that every one is going it can attract some of the wrong people that want to take advantage of a situation. i guarantee that Columns of Knowledge was very aware of the problems and tried everything in their power to make every one have an enjoyable time.
  13. lol i realy dont give a shit. they can keep bombing the post all they want. i find it quite amusing. this isn't the first forum Ive been on. i post on many many forums and don't really care about any of them other than one reason and that's to promote. so go a head and keep trashing my post it just keeps bumping my post up to the top and promotes my night more. what a dumb ass....lol
  14. the reason why this board is a piece of shit is because of all the old fucking trolls. you chased all the users off with your annoying antics. no one can ever have a decent human conversation on here. or you just fallow certain individuals posts around or sexually harass any of the girls that are on here. that shit gets old and tends to make people stop posting. your the ones that ruined this board so stop complaining about it and do something about it. stop bickering and fighting and build relationships. how about promote the board get new users and don't harass them or mock the things they say because they are newbs. create a community of people that are into the same thing " the music" ""the scene" think about it. especially if your a dj. it doesn't look very professional to your fans if you fighting with another dj or promoter. keep it off the board and take it to a pm. the more users posting the more exposure you get to your carrier. i tell you what i would never book half the dj's on here and not due to their dj skills but just on the fact that they don't act professional. positive energy produces growth negative energy produces destruction
  15. no i didnt get to go there when it was Sound Factory, i didnt start going there till 99 so i only got to enjoy a little of the action.
  16. I dj a bit but i dont play out because im trying to take it verry serious and i dont think im up to par yet. i think a lot of dj's play out before they are ready. your first impression is always the one that sticks. i do artist managment and thats one of my most important things that i tell other people. i do play with friends privatly. i can say i am a lot better then most people that play out already but thats just not cutting it in my eyes. As far as i know Don and Laura still live in New Britain. Over by Ella St.
