Dear Friends and fans, As most of you know, I have poured every ounce of air that I breathe into making as many people that I possibly can enjoy themselves for the love of music and dancing in almost every major city and well over 20 countries now. For this I am very proud and beyond grateful. I am still overwhelmed. If you have been following me since 1996 when I started my residencies at Roxy, then Twilo, Tunnel and Vinyl/Arc which lasted for 5 years and 3 months at 6 Hubert St. Then, most of you know that I have never canceled any of my gigs here in NYC. I do my best to stay in great shape and keep away from colds and flu's, etc. I can recall a few times where I felt a bit under the weather, but I still went to work as to not disappoint anyone that may have had intentions to come hear me perform. It brings me Great Sadness and Disappointment to say that -"unfortunately" I have come down with a case of The Chicken Pox which (as you probably know) is highly contagious and I have been recommended to not be around people for at least one week. Unless you have already had them, since you can only get it once. SO HERE IS THE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT! * WE ARE WORKING RIGHT NOW ON A DATE TO RESCHEDULE THE BOAT RIDE ASAP HOSTED BY BENNY SOTO, BE YOURSELF & FRIENDS. * THE SHELTER WILL STILL BE OPEN TOMORROW FRIDAY, AUGUST 24th. AND THERE WILL BE A HOST OF DJ's TO REPRESENT ME AND THE "BE YOURSELF THEME" AND THE SOUNDS THAT WE ALL LOVE. - :ears: THE FIVE DJ's THAT I HAVE ASKED TO FILL IN FOR ME HAVE ALL BEEN PART OF THE FAMILY FOR MANY YEARS NOW. - MANNY FREYTES, BURCHAN, ANTRANIG, RON AND BORALI! - I really don't know what else to say at this time, as I am sure that I am probably much more disappointed than everyone here together that will read this message of mine today. I am sure that The Shelter will BE fantastic! We have had a crew in there decorating and I certainly have been overly excited about "finally" playing at possibly the only venue here in NYC that has that 6 Hubert Street feeling, with thanks and great Respect to Timmy Regisford, and to all The Shelter heads and family. So please, I beg you all to still go out and BE YOURSELF and enjoy this wonderful evening. The weather is going to BE great and I am certain all 5 DJ's will do a fantastic job since we all love so much of the same music. I will even be sharing some of my most "exclusive edits and rarities" with the DJ's so that my presence will still BE heard and until we can reschedule The Boat and hopefully The Shelter as well, ASAP! One last thing I want you all to know is that: "I FEEL GREAT" !!!!! I have surprised all three Doctors that saw me because they kept asking me: Do you have fever? Are you itchy? Are you coughing? Etc, and Thank God it was all No No No & No .... I FEEL PERFECT! Except for these 155 red dots on my skin? :-0 So, the best thing was that I went to see a Dr. as soon as I sensed that it was more than an acne breakout or mosquito bites. In the last 2 months I have been to Ibiza and Italy twice, Serbia, Dubai, NY, Miami and Baltimore. This included many hotels, airports, airplanes and this is why I take plenty of Vitamins and I even believe in those Airborne's as a preventative. When you travel very often, I guess things are bound to catch up with all of us. I am very thankful to God that this is not a serious illness and I pray that you can find it in yourselves to BE grateful that I have not decided to be "selfish" and still play on The Boat or at The Shelter, because I still feel VERY UP FOR IT! But, I would not be able to live with myself as I was warned this could be extremely dangerous to pregnant women, etc. Until we all dance together very, very soon! I send my deepest apologies. Sincerely, danny tenaglia * PS: I will BE here at my computer and phone, and you all have my blessings to BE YOURSELF without me for this one evening. I really do love you all so very much. I will be in all week, so feel free to write to me at screen name: MySpaceDT@aol.com I will also be here finally catching up on a mountain of e-mail's and I will post as many replies as I can to this thread.
