PMM-006 HEAVYFEET "Sick Like That EP" Original tracks by: HeavyFeet Tracks: Sick Like That (Vocal Mix), Sick Like That (Dub Mix) Remix by: Santiago & Bushido (Sick Like That) CLICK HERE TO LISTEN! HeavyFeet’s wobbly beats bring their own dirty vibe to the Potty Mouth Music roster. Best-known for crafting jerky, shuffled beats, HeavyFeet producers Mike Burgess and James Medina have pooled their collective talents to become two of the Manchester underground scene’s fastest rising stars at 23 years old. Mike’s background as a classically trained musician, promoter and engineer found the DJ and production talent of James, who currently holds a residency at Manchester’s Tangled, the city’s longest running club night since 1993. When the two combined their production talents, their taste for the UK heavy house sound, pioneered by the likes of Switch, was already sweeping the underground electronic scene worldwide. “There’s massive attention to detail in our production, especially with regards to the use of vocal cuts and the process of sampling and completely transforming sounds,†says Mike. “The vocal cuts and shuffle on the beats is something we’re always asked about,†adds James. HeavyFeet’s bass-heavy sound blends U.S. and UK house with breaks, hip hop and garage. The result is a shuffled arrangement of distorted vocals, old-skool rave noises, new-school Chicago jack and plenty of wobbly undertones. When DJing, James has previously controlled the decks the solo, but there is now increased support from Mike, whilst in the studio, producing is a 50-50 effort. The duo is currently finishing new remixes for Fat! Records and U&A Recordings, which both attracted attention from Speaker Junk and Micky Slim’s Bomb Squad imprint. HeavyFeet has also lent recent supporting sets to Trevor Loveys and Micky Slim, with dates alongside Switch, MSTRKRFT and Boy 8-Bit forthcoming in the UK. Aside from their detailed production work, HeavyFeet is continuing to collaborate with vocalists on several original projects. Chris Madin (Stonebridge), David Lewis (Streetz Recordings), Riz MC (BBC Electric Proms Winner) and Goldie’s tour MC, Switch MC are just a few names crooning their way into the mix of HeavyFeet’s distinct wobbly sound. Mike and James are currently expanding their DJ performance to include the both of them in a paired performance, incorporating laptop computer, MIDI controllers and FX units into the mix, with the now-standard twin CDJ set-up. HeavyFeet also looks to incorporate MCs and turntablists into a live DJ performance that balances out their fidget bass lines. Their future goals, at Potty Mouth Music and beyond, include the creation of a live show with vocalists and musicians, similar to the vein of Audio Bullys and Basement Jaxx. POTTY MOUTH MUSIC (Chicago): www.pottymouthmusic.com Screw soap the mouth; the brand of jack that defines Chicago’s new-school house sound gets a tech-heavy makeover from the talent roster of Potty Mouth Music. Inspired by the dirty glitch twists of fidget house producers such as Switch, Trevor Loveys and Jesse Rose, Potty Mouth ditches conventional house boundaries, imploring turntable trickery, unconventional loops and straight up techno into its catalogue of tracks. Chicago-based label head James Amato keeps house-heavy influences in place and lacing them with the kind of dirty glitch that makes it feel so good to be so bad. Potty Mouth artists included The Crookers (Italy), DJ Fame (New York) Santiago & Bushido (Chicago), The Bulgarian (UK), HiJack (UK).

Available for purchase at: www.beatport.com www.stompy.com www.primalrecords.com www.junodownload.com www.traxsource.com www.djdownload.com JAMES AMATO (Chicago) Neighborhood House Watch, SmartBar Chicago *****Download James Amato's Most Recent Mix! James Amatos grass roots approach to the music industry has kept him balancing roles of DJ, promoter, producer, and venue owner for more than 10 years. From hosting his first one-off event in 1998 to securing his position as Director of Music and Bookings at Chicagos historically influential SmartBar, James has become one of the most widely recognized names on the Midwest electronic music scene. In 2006, he established his industry presence further by launching Neighborhood House Watch, a new label that showcases similar-influenced Chicago House tracks. Recently James launched Potty Mouth Music, a new label ditching conventional house boundaries, imploring turntable trickery, unconventional loops and straight up dirty-glitchness into its catalogue of tracks. James grew up in Milwaukee, Wis., and was introduced to electronic music through the Midwest rave scene in the early 1990s. In 1999, he began working at Revolutions Records and joined forces with local electronic music innovator Steven Kaye in hosting Bassment at Rave/Eagles club. James exposure landed him the position of Saturday Night Music Director at Milwaukees Pure nightclub. At the time, Pure stood as the citys premiere underground music venue, boasting a six-figure sound system and sprawling capacity. As a promoter and resident, his global bookings and promotional tactics filled the floor every week. In 2004, James invested back into the industry by becoming co-owner and director of music and bookings at Milwaukees Mantra Lounge. Here he launched Kamasutra, a Friday event that would go on to become Milwaukees top underground electronic music night for three years. As its promoter, James booked a versatile roster of electronic talent that defied genre boarders. The consistent success of the night put the citys club scene on the national radar, as it garnered press attention from publications including URB and Nightclub/Bar Magazine. James success with night earned him runner-up for the Best Promoter in the U.S. by URB magazine, along with several pictorial Kamasutra spreads throughout 2005. Locally, James earned several press accolades, including Best Club DJ in Milwaukees 2005 Shepherd Express readers poll. In September 2006, James relocated to Chicago to become the new Director of Music and Bookings at Chicagos SmartBar, a historic venue with a 25-year tradition of showcasing electronic talent. Under the guidance of owner Joe Shanahan James continues broaden his scope as a promoter and bookings director. Teaming up with production partner Nate Bowen, their production fluidity has led to collaborative releases on Large Music, Red Brunette, Nine Records and Neighborhood House Watch. Additionally, James has partner production powers with Sombionx (Q Studios). The result is blend of funk-infused house tracks reminiscent of Chicagos past while evolving in the future direction of New School House. James balance of bass, bump and organic rhythms create peak-hour tracks that fill dance floors. James move to Chicago sees this 29-year-old nightlife guru reaching new plateaus of success in his promotional and production career. He continues to push the limits and raise the industry standard of the Midwest electronic music scene. JAMES AMATO - BEATPORT - TOP TEN (2/1/08) 01. Mastiksoul "Jacobino" Hosi Recordings 02.
