A new bill championed and sponsored by members of the Philippino Senate Committee will bring either life in prison or a death sentence for anyone found in possession of as little as 10g of MDMA.

This proposed Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 would also apply to other club drugs PMA, GBH and LSD and, if pushed through, would halve the amount of methamphetamine it would take to issue a death sentence from the current law of 200g to 100g.

The bill - championed by Philippine Senate President Franklin Drilon and sponsored by the chairman of the senate committee on public order and illegal drugs, Sen. Robert Barbers - would also create a Drug Enforcement Agency modeled on the USA’s system, whereby local authorities are allowed to issue a year’s padlock on any business or residence where at least two drug transactions have taken place.

"The illegal drugs menace is now considered public enemy No.1 all over the world," said Barbers. "It now poses a grave threat to our country’s national security… and it may only take a little more time before the Philippines becomes another Columbia."

Barber’s efforts to get this hard-line drug bill passed two years ago were stalled

I read about this awhile back. it's like the US ecstasy anti proliferation act; taken to a new level." life in prison or a death sentence". I've read the death sentence would; be carried out by "lethal injection" ,very interesting.
