Recommended Posts

YES, ITS OVERPLAYED AND NOW COMMERCIAL...

BUT NOT ALWAYS?

LISTEN TO THIS!!!!

Data Records, the Ministry Of Sound off-shoot label, have finally confirmed

the long-running rumours Zombie Nations summer anthem Kernkraft 400.

The label has now admitted that the main riff which forms he crux of the

track is borrowed from the 1980s Commodore C64 game Lazy Jones.

In a brief statement, the lable confirmed that the big synth riff on Zombie

Nation's Kernkraft 400 single began life as a 1984 game for the Commodore C64.> Mr Zombie, aka "Splank", has had to pay an undisclosed amount to David

Whittaker, the programmer who wrote the original.

The rumour originated from a message posted on web-chat site http://www.egroups.com

at the end of the summer. A writer named Chris Abbott claimed to be writing

from the website http://www.c64audio.com, a site for Commodore music enthusiasts, and> said in his message that he had helped negotiate a settlement between the

original writer and Zombie Nation. The above statement from Ministry Of Sound

appears to bear this out.

The track within the game boasts the sub-title Stardust, and was one of the> many tracks that Whittaker composed for C64 games throughout the 1980s.

Nonetheless, persistant rumour-mongers claim that since the game soundtrack

contains apparent steals from Visages Fade To Grey and Nenas 99 Red

Balloon, Whittaker himself may have taken the riff from yet another, unknown

source. These rumours, however remain purely speculative.
