Amarley Robinson McKenzie, just 10, has secured a place on 1Xtra, the BBC’s new specialist black music station.McKenzie learnt his skills with tips from family friends and lots of practice at a local music shop. He said: "Some of my mum's friends gave me advice but some of it I learnt myself." The 10 year old has been DJing since he was six. He said: "I would like to be doing the same thing in ten years time - only better."
