Actually maze's sound system was installed by sound investments out of chicago as was the dash sytem at lola. Same guy, dan agne. Nice cat. System is still in lola and will be reinforced and the booth will be moved and the bar has been ripped out.

Did anyone notice at lola all we had was a disco ball and 3 pin spots. I hate overdone light shows. I like the music for the ears and the people to be the eye show. Simplicity always works in the end, I feel. Again if I could go to sears and buy every tool they have, I would. So if someone opens a club and wants there toys, i understand. I don't understand when a club spends all kind of money on sound and lights and has no money for marketing. I see it all the time. Can someone say FUEL.

Again this is mr joe budious. i forgot to log tomas out. sorry dude

I completely agree with you..... We all ready have plenty of "light shows" on the beach for people that require that. For me, it's about the music and vibe... .and seeing people dance and have fun.

So keep the disco ball, add some black lights, and a strobe light and some PHAT ass tunes, and you'll have yet, another satisfied customer:D

Lola:eek:

*steve dash doesn't do lighting*

He's not going to be doing the sound in Nerve either, the same system by Roly and Dan Agne from Sound Investment is staying. Not a bad rig...good enough for whatever they end up doing in there. It's not like some megastar DJ like Van Dyk is gonna play it.

For the style of lounge that Lola/Nerve was/is, a tripped out lightshow isn't necessary. I could rig up something quite simple in about half a day using local contractors and labour that would be a wonderful addition to the space. For little lounges, it's the people that count more, as Joe was saying. I went to Lola to see people, not scope out sound and lighting equipment. I can do that at Maze or Space :)

We're not saying run down to Radio Shack and get bullshit, we're saying for what the space requires, you don't need to fly in the world's top sound engineer when you've got people of his caliber in our backyard.

NERVE

SAVING THE WORLD, ONE PARTY AT A TIME!!!

There are plenty of new clubs in South Beach, but this one is NEW AND DIFFERENT, we swear! It has some NERVE!!!

The entire VIP-Champagne-Private Party scene is good and people love it. Yes, people really, really love it! But they also like innovation, challenge, & eccentricity ... In short, they like the unpredictable!

But is South Beach ready for this?

It will be when it sees it, because NERVE is about to provide an overdose of all of the above: yes, salmon sofas covered in caviar with midgets in gas masks and all the other good things that life has to offer!

NERVE is not about the traditional white walls and white beds featured in all those exclusive establishments where everybody goes.

NERVE is about overlapping different tribes creating a friction that produces splendid social energy. Different crowds that feed on each others uniqueness. Yes, this is actually a lot of FUN! It's a forgotten art form much used in those legendary NYC clubs from way back when clubs like Danceteria and Area, ruled the earth...

And talking about Area (the club that used to undergo a radical change of decor every 2 months) NERVE will do a complete makeover and feature a different theme several times a year, so that jaded night clubbers can look forward to a sense of displacement every time they come. Yes, let us throw a Benefit Party for the Displaced Populations of the Night! Cool, huh? So, on one occasion the club will look like Barbie land, and the next time the theme would be Dr. Calgary, with tilted walls and scary walking wounded and so on. We guarantee that it may amuse even the most lethargic slouches of Palm Beach's upper crust.

Oh, and the music: figments of high-energy old school bass beat intertwined with pixels of electro clash revisionism. Well, just come and listen to it and then you get the idea. And if not, you are going to have a good time regardless.

So, in a Nutshell:

WHAT: Social Surface. Decor Changes all the Time. It should be fun if you are there.

WHEN: Opening when we are ready, sometime in March

WHERE: Cool address: 247 23rd Street in Sobe, Miami. Tel 305 695 8697

WHO: Club legend Rudolf, DJ extraordinaire Michael Storms and Real Estate Mogul Mario Sopena. A wonderful combination of character and pizzazz. Nervy dudes, that is for sure! Also keep a look out for local icons Mark Leventhal, Carmel Ophir, & DJ Roman Ricardo (tunnel, roxy, 1018, paradise garage, etc.)

Plus much more name dropping to follow soon

WHY: Because we are just evil, that is why. And besides, we just got bored with most other clubs.

Well, that is about it.

We though you oughta know.

There is a phrase, "See to believe" . I can believe just by the names on this last post. Good luck. The foundations are there.
