cintron Posted January 21 Report Share Posted January 21 yup that's pretty much it.the temperature threshold for the pads and rotors is far far too high for normal street use. they wouldn't even get warm enough to do anything if you were just fooling around on the freeway.I bet those suckers need a good hard couple laps to get up to temperature.but yes there are idiots who want ceramic brakes for no reason other than bragging rights. joeg Posted January 21 Report Share Posted January 21 for street use, a good 2 or 4 piston caliper with 13" aluminum rotors are sufficient...but if you're doing track events, you're going to get a lot of fade, and go through a lot of pads/rotors with normal brakes... i mean, if you have the money, ceramic is niiiice... but you can get a really nice kit from brembo or wilwood for like $4k thats going to be more than enough for most applications...
