Flying into Ft Lauderdale

Recommended Posts

OK, there's a few ways of getting to Miami from Fort Lauderdale Airport.

1st way: (very cheap, but kinda slow) - Public Transit.

Take the Tri-Rail Shuttle from Fort Lauderdale Airport to the nearby Tri-Rail station. Take a southbound Tri-Rail to the Miami Metrorail transfer station. Take the Metrorail to Government Center Station, then the C, the K, or the S bus to South Beach.

Totals:

Tri-Rail shuttle: free

Tri-Rail ticket : $2.50 or so

Metrorail: free transfer from Tri-Rail..save your ticket.

Bus fare: A quarter, grab a transfer on your way off the train.

Works if you're staying on the beach and don't have a lot of luggage. Could take you 2 or more hours to get here though.

2nd way: (more expensive, but a bit faster...) - shared ride limo

Shared ride limos are those Town Cars you see jetting around the airport. You get in, tell the driver where you're going, and he takes you there, but only after filling up the car. So it could take about a half hour to just leave the airport sometimes...

Fare: $20 plus tip.

3rd way: (expensive and fast) - Taxi

Just grab a taxi and tell him where you want to go..

Fare: $60 or more plus tip
