In 2003 the tradition continues. The "Fresh" series now has last for 6 years

and has outlasted any of other our series oriented events. The vibe at the

"Fresh" events has always been just that: eager anticipation, excitement,

funky fun, and a return to an energy not felt at most clubs or one offs these

days. The Fresh series, ironically enough has always marked a turning point

for us. Fresh in 1997 marked the end of our truly "underground" events in

skate parks for the most part. Refresh in 1998 marked the beginning of us

seeing larger turnouts and really proved that we had a grip of what the

masses wanted. Fresh Start in 2000 was celebrating a new millenium for us, as

well as the approaching birth of my son Zachary. In 2002 So Fresh & So Clean

was the culmination of 5 years of work bringing the Fresh vibe to its

ultimate pinacle. Now in 2003 we take you one step further. With the launch

of Columns of Knowledge Recordings in 2003, as well as some welcome additions

to the COK dj roster, we feel it's definitely time to bring the "Fresh"ness

back to the party! The next chapter is now...feel the funk! Peace, Columns

crowd-rocking favorite and one of the most in demand artists in the country.

dominate the rest of Europe, Asia, and Australia. In just four years of

DJing, she's played alongside artists such as Masters at Work, Carl Cox, Sven

Vath, Richie Hawtin, and many others. Misstress Barbara's various music

tastes brought her to play many important North American clubs such as Twilo

(NYC), Velvet Underground (London), Sona (Montreal), Industry (Toronto),

for this night of sexy freshness and debauchery. And while "Dirty" wasn't

quite the hit "The Thong Song" was 2 yrs ago, it did earn her a remix by

Nigel Richards on the highly acclaimed Futureclash cd on System Recordings!

Last year he released "Dubplate Selections: Volume One" through their own CHE

label with assistance of Dawnpatrol. Now, at the close of 2002, we see Todd

getting ready to release "Dubplate Selection: Volume 2" on the CHE label once

again, this time with assistance from Downbeat Productions, a CT based Drum N

bass label that Todd and Josiah have joined within the last few months. This

CD will be different, for Josiah will not only be included in some surprising

facets, but it will debut a hip hop track from Josiah’s upcoming hip hop

release "Master Communication" that Todd is executive producing. Downbeats

sister label, Terpsichore, recently released Todds first vinyl offering "CH’

^^^are you serious? I'm 23 I work three jobs and I go to raves!! I've been sober since I was 17 and Columns of Knowledge throws some of the best parties on the east coast!! You have no idea what your talking about!! There are a lot of people that are just like me and go to parties for the music!! Just because there are people doing drugs there doesn't mean anything!! They are stricter at the Asylum about searching people then they are at any of the clubs I've ever been too!! I personally can't stand being around drunk people at clubs that's just my oppinion but I don't bash the club scene just because I don't like it!!! This party is going to be off the hook!!

You don't know your music if you think Donald Glaud, Diselboy, Mistress Barbra, Knowledge, Circuitbreaker, Bam Bam and all the rest of the DJ's at this party are a disgrace to the east coast music scene!! Just because they don't spin mainstream cheesey trance music doesn't mean their a disgrace to the scene!!! Like I said if you don't like it don't go, but why do you have to bash it like that? There are people that work very hard to see these events take place and there are a lot of people that go to these events that aren't going for the drugs!! That was the only point I was trying to make!! There's no reason to be so judgemental!!

First is, I hate it when people come on the board from out of nowhere and act like I give two shits about their a)party...or b)opinion. Second is, that this board has recently been flooded with posts about bullshit parties around New England. With the acception of a couple not-so-awful lineups, most of the parties promoted on here suck big ass. If they knew anything about the people who actually post on this board, they would know that most of us(not speaking for everyone) dont like the bullshit music/parties/scene that they promote. You should probably spend a little more time spamming boards about video games and glow sticks, then annoying me with your bullshit promotions.

I'm sorry if I made an assumption but most of the DJ's spinning at this party are very good and you might disagree with me but there are a lot of people out there that don't!!

I'd like to add my .02 to this discussion. The problem is that the people that regularly contribute to this forrum are a community of sorts. They talk on a daily basis, and many of the hang out when they aren't online. As a community, they want people to contribute and become part of the community. By starting off with plugs for parties you're saying that you have no interest in the community, you just want to use it for advertising. If you took the time to get to know people, and earn their respect before you started promoting your parties, people would be much more receptive. They might even take a chance and go check out an event that they normally wouldn't have, just to support another member of the community. It's true that these boards are here to inform people, but people need to know what you're about before they follow you. I'm a DJ, and I don't think I've really blown up my own events on here because I'm still relatively new to CP, and don't want people on here to think I'm "using" CP. If there is something going on that I think might be of interest, I'll mention it, but I talk about more than just my events. Personally I agree that everyone is welcome to their own opinion. Having said that, replies to simple plugs for events without any ill intention toward viewers of this site or anyone else for that matter should not have to be recipients of such immediate negative flak. Like Melissa said, you can always ignore such a post. We all have a right to be here. I agree that not all the music at my events is credible with being (high-calibre)... simply because a lot of people out there don't request what I consider high calibre talent (Barbara, Christian Smith, Marco Carola, etc)... but on that same note I am not just throwing events for myself. I am booking talent people have asked me to bring in. You are more into the older, drinking, clubbing community. No problem. I've hung @ Avalon before. Sometimes its my thing, sometimes I can't stand the music their either. All depends on mood and artist of course. As for getting to know a community before posting, given that I have a son, a regular job outside event coordinating, a record label to run, and a family I don't have time to learn the idiosyncracies of each poster's personality. I do know that every forum has their ballbreaker. Guess that must be you. Heh. As for my djing... heh... I couldn't care less if you hate me or not. Every artist/dj/producer whatever is hated by someone. As for my son? Hell he's 2 1/2... if he was 15 no I would strongly caution him about the temptations associated with nightclubs and nightlife. I wouldn't make him feel inferior by wanting to attend such functions though. Commercial electronica clublife originated in raves so that which you disrespect spawned what you enjoy now. Disrepect your past and I don't see how you are evolving. I am very accepting of both club and rave communities. The 2 need to coexist for the genre of electronica to evolve as a whole. That's my .05 for now.
