AS BRASILEIRAS
NOBU. Hear from many sushi eaters that it has THE BEST sushi anywhere in the world except maybe Japan.Just make sure you don't go to TOMA.

brandie
sushi samba is good, a friend of mine is the chef there, the food is wonderful but not such traditional sushi . . .i've never eaten @ avenue a sushi but practically everyone i know has, and frequents the place, cant go wrong with that, it seems.if you're willing to venture out of the east village but remain downtown, you might want to try bond street . . . or blue ribbon has amazing sushi as well . . . a little higher in price range, but the quality of the sushi is just superb. NOBU is fabulous, as well as the highest in $$ range . . . but not easy to get into on short notice, as was stated. hope this helps a bit!~ brandie
