Deko And Eric Morillo Review..whats Ur Take?

Recommended Posts

Some of the time he was on point, some of the time the beat kept going waaaaaaaay too long, such as at the beginning of the "she wakes up every morning, just to get her hair done. . . " "because she's homeless, she's homeless" . . .that song. Also, some DJs work very well together, some trip over each other a bit. . . Romero and Morillo don't mix too well, a bit like oil and water. . . A lot of Romero's music choices didn't match well with what Morillo was doing right before. . . not too much continuity. Plus, the busted beats and the times where he completely dropped it, then brought it back then dropped it, there wasn't nearly enough of a good buildup to be able to do that. . . some of the mixing was hype, some was just pulling oldass songs out.

Also, 3 words of advice for Deko: "air circulation upstairs" . . . air was completely stagnant, no airflow, not good. Wasn't too hot, just no air movement at all, at least get the fan on the system going.

I agree with you Romero and Morillo do not mix well together at all also Morillo didn't play that much imo....I was timing it at one point in the night and Morillo was on for about five minutes and Romero would come right back....still a good night and can't wait for next month. I really enjoy watching Eric spin as well love the way he gets into the music if I was a DJ that is how I would be up there as well

Morillo's set last time was like a trip, and he did pick it up and dropped it. . . i love his energy, i love it when a dj really gets into his music. I love knob tweakers, and Erick is right up there in that. Romero, he put some songs on that had no connection, beatmatching was off, just wasn't tight. It seemed that Erick, when he was on, was trying too hard sometimes since the crowd wasn't really in it. But I feel it was more people couldn't breathe enough to really be moving, lack of air movement makes people really lethargic. That needs to be fixed, no doubt.

agreed completely... although I still had a fantastic time last Thursday, it was NOTHING compared to his first appearance. I don't think anything could touch that night!!! :D

SO AFTER ALL THE HYPE AND THE WAITING...WHAT DID U GUYS THINK? IT WASN'T AS PACKED AS THE FIRST MORILLO APPEARANCE BUT I FELT THE MUSIC WAS JUST AS GOOD...SOME THINGS WERE BETTER,SOME WORSE..WHATS YOUR OPINION?

This Thursday was my first Deko Thursday... I had a great time, but going out with people who wanna have fun and hear great music makes it that much easier.... It wasn't as crowded as I would have thought, but I really liked both sets, minus the few scrathes here and there. There was so much energy in the room, it was insane. I can't wait till the next I do a Deko Thursday:D
