cubbie78
To be completely honest, I was a bit skeptical about the whole night before I went. I saw the Mayan website and I thought that the event would be all clubbers with black pants and dress shoes. Don't get me wrong, thats fine for them...whatever makes them happy...its just not my deal. I was also afraid that PVD would be a little "lighter" then when I have seen him back East. I don't know what it is, the East Coast always seems a bit on the darker side. But let me tell you PVD did not let me down.Frist let me give some love to Bowen. He definitely got the crowd going. His set was tight and on point. It was a shame that a lot of people were just there for PVD and didn't even acknowledge him. Finally PVD stepped up to the decks...and it was on! He came out strong and hard just to smooth it out for a little while, but kept everyone moving with little "tastes" here and there. But once 1:30 came around...PVD just tore it up. The buildups were amazing, and I was really happy to hear his selection of tech-trance that was more rave style than club. He tore it up for an hour straight, and then smoothed it out before the finally. The only down side of the event was that he didn't finish with "For an Angel" I love that track and it reminds me of some good old times back east. Overall, great venue, great dj's, and incredible sets. Definitely one of my favorite nights.
