I have friends who are bar tenders and they put people on "the list" and they dont get comped. Even Edgar V has told me that he has put people on the list and they did not get comped. Sometimes I get in for free and some times I pay. No big deal. SPACE continues to be notorious for seemingly not giving a damn about its patrons I guess.
