I am a smoker, as long as there are smoke eeters (thats a brand) or other types of smoke vent and air cleaning machines in an establishment you cant even smell the smoke.. Joeys for one example has the honeywell machines I believe and they work great so the place doesnt get too smokey. If this rediculous law goes through I will open up my own place for smokers only. eccentricmofo
Its amazingly and gradually becoming more and more similiar to those days in prohibition. As for you LIteralists in the crowd, I know what the differences between alcohol and tabacco are so please save me the tarted boring time of reading through typed responses of the obvious.. I LUV it....when Im out and about, smoking a cig, I consider myself a very polite smoker and still I get ridicule. Id be walking down the street and go way out of my way in order to not blow smoke in a kids face, or adults..or anyones. ALso Im really really working on quiting, but thats my OWN decision. First its the bars and clubs, then you cant smoke and drive, then you cant smoke in public, then before you know it the same spankers promoting those bands make cursing and staying UP late illegal as well. ANy of you watch Demolition Man with Stalone....interesting movie..and prefer not to live like such.. BESIDES...the truth is...alll you NONSMOKERs are jealous...that we (the smoking crowd) look cooler...like the badass cowboy, ANd your envious of us having cooler sounding voices due to prolong smoking as well as the odds of dieing earlier in life increased drastically. To this I say...fuck it... Drive fast, (use your blinker at least), Curse all you want (at least not around young kids), and live your OWN life.... the way you want...P.S. to support smoking everywhere and anywhere vote on this website... www.freesmokersrights.coughcoughcoughyack.com Peace :smoke:
voodoolounge
When I get out of Joey's, my clothes stink like smoke. You don't realize it because your a smoker!Smoking kills non-smokers, for that reason it should be illegalQuit now Kosta, you'll live longer, your breath won't stink later on, and your teeth won't turn yellow my friend! stiffler
Let me know when you club owners close because your place is less than half full all night. Even the non-smokers(some) enjoy smoking when they drink.
Guest saleen351
i posted an article on the nyc board but i'll sum it up hereIn hellena montana, they had a smoking ban in all bars, and eaterys... Well the doctors took the data on heart hearts for the previous years, and they concluded an immediated effect took place. Before hand 7 Heart attacks a month, as soon as the ban took place only 3 heart attacks per month... But the law was challenged so for now the smoking ban is repealed, and the heart attack rates jumped back up to 7 per month... Now they are studying NYC since its much larger, and god forbid the same results come true in nyc, then you'll see a smoking ban in every non tobacco growing state... and i hope so..and just so you know, there is no such thing as second hand drinking... Florida has a semi smoking ban comming this july. Boston goes smoke free very soon... Face it smokers highschool is over, get some will power and quit... and if you have kids, then you are a bad parent...

And it is part of my pursuit to happiness. PS. Ronnie, Thanx for the health concern, but I enjoy smoking even if it is bad for my health.Remember when Smoking was the cool Glamorous Thing to do. The government supported it and everything. Then a few communist non-smokers come by and next thing you know its bad for your health and now theyre trying to ban it. (ok so maybe they werent commies).Kosta P.

eccentricmofo
I got a good idea, aside from focusing on trying to make tabacco, illegal in bars.. How about we focus on stopping those doing something else also illegal in bars...I mean. Last time I checked I think coke is not allowed by law to be done in the clubs....lol

allishara
There is absolutely nothing worse than the stench of cigarettes in your hair the following morning.... uuugghh... its so nasty
ou812
Well, to be fair to this situation, I wouldn't necessarily liken it to prohibition. It's not like the state is telling you that you can't smoke, or you can't purchase cigarettes. They're just telling you that you can't smoke in confined spaces where it's going to affect other people. Personally I can't stand smoke, and I hate coming home smelling like an ashtray. If you're nicotine addiction is really that strong, just chain-smoke a pack of cigs before you get to the bar or club to load your system up with nicotine, and that should hold you over for the 5-6 hours or so that you are there. feelgoodshouse
isn't it already a done deal as of april 15?I do enjoy a smoke when I drink or spin but I also enjoy coming home from Djing and not having to take a shower!I agree with many of you on the old "slippery slope" theory...what's next? McDonalds? Then again you eating McDonalds has no effect on me. It's a tough decision. Fortunatly V-Lounge is going to have a sweet patio area come spring time with music and everything.
