none come close to space, though some are cool to check out every now and then... only one doesnt' close at 5am

future ones:

that new nyc afterhours joint.. which i have no info on.

And nocturnal which will do well.

game over, deal with it:tongue:

come close to space in what respect? DJ talent? venue size? after hours? if you know anything about the miami scene, then you know people’s loyalty to genres of music, dj’s, and venues change about as often as the weather.. use yourself as a perfect example "Future Maze Legend".:D to take the presumed cavalier attitude ,that you’re the only game in town, and it’s our way or the highway. will come back to kick you in the arse. the playing field is way to complex, to have only one game plan.

LOL, yeah Greg def scared me with that move

Also I agree about Oscar, i have never really been a big fan until Sat night! OMG he was great, def played a great mix of tunes and he is a nasty trance DJ when he wants to be...if he played like that every weekend I wouldnt go anywhere else!

The dresscode was bullshit, we should have been warned about that...*cough* biz *cough*

It was great to finally be in the new Space without the WMC crowd, having room to dance was a plus since thats all we basically did! IMO I wont miss the old Space, 34 is awesome, much better than I expected.

Oh and I loved the snow...reminded me of many nights in NYC clubs :(:D but bring back the whiteouts!!

Oh and it was a HUGE sausage fest, it seemed like me and abby were like the only two chicks on the dance floor at 3/4am...and if one more person asked if I was on spring break I was gonna scream

OMG i had an amazing time sat night...much better time than i had during conference...the dress code was weird most ppl in space are wearing sneakers and jeans anyways and why wouldnt you who wants to dance in uncomforatble shoes and clothes...the music was great...the people were an interesting mix...agree w/u steff on the spreak break comments....lmao...the strip show by sgt fury was definitely a funny sight...great hangin out w/everyone...too many to name...

by the way attn beatfriek: you have a twin in this world who i have now seen twice at space and both times mistaken for you which led to an awkward moment once i realized it wasnt u...lmao

see you all soon

to all who werent there you were missed...

I'm glad there is a dress code policy there now, before anybody could get in dressed really badly. Though new jeans is a little 2 much, I don't think space had that rule as I got in space with jeans on saturday and even with my jesus is my homeboy tshirt so I guess its just how u present yourself in your clothes. And inside the club you could tell a difference if you passed by the hip hop section. People actually looked dressed for a club in there.

First off, Thanks to all that showed up for the Grand Opening of Space 34!! In my opinion everything was on point & If the Dress code thing was the only dissapointment, than I would say we did exceptionally well.

Now to briefly touch up on the Dress code (from a doorman's point of view)- Yes, it was a big event, yes it was an Ocean Drive Mag party, but besides that, it's opening night & opening night is about first impressions. There's usually nothing wrong with wearing Jeans & casual sneakers. Unless of course you have on a pair of dingy kicks who look like they've seen their best days, or a not soo appropriate pair of jeans hangin' off your @ss decorated with a lint infested, unpressed t-shirt or Jersey. & please try not to sport the wife beater!!

All that any club asks is that you come clean, groomed & pressed(in other words presentable) to their doorstep. I usually always wear Jeans & casual kicks, but I always show up pressed, groomed & scuff free from head to toe. & like someone said earlier, sometimes its also about "the way you present yourself" or who you are with.

I've heard a few times, from many peepz on the board that on some nights "the crowd was horrendous". What do you expect if we don't stiffen the dress code?? It's a no thug, no scrub policy & unfortunately, the presentation speaks before the mouth & personality of a person. If you don't think so, then tell me when was the last time you & the doorman had a real conversation @ the velvet rope other than I'm on the list, my name is.. He's got no time for that, so the way you look at that point says it all. If you are dressin' down, you have to be crafty, so take notes or read GQ for the latest dress up tips I guess, I don't know.

Here's a tip- If I'm goin' to a place where I don't know the door guy & I'm with the boys, I'll try to make up for what's missing by dressin' accordingly. Dress codes are door policy & the club is doin' it for your best interest. The majority of the people in a club the size of Space go there to socialize, meet people, enjoy themselves & listen to good music (possibly in that order). Unfortunately we are in a business where it's all about presentation, so keep that in mind next time you walk up to a fresh new venue, or a happening spot. There's always room for comfort without sacrificing presentation...

Ps. remember, some dress styles suit certain peepz, just cuz Brad Pitt wears a shirt with a shit stain on it, don't mean you can rock it as well as he does...

Hope that helps. ;)

you will NEVER get denied if youre wearing a "guayabera" from LA CASA DE LAS GUAYABERAS ;)

its on 8th street in Little Havana.

If you get denied when wearing this. show Lou your shirt label. and he will escort you right in and you might even get a wrist band.

try it. :D

so biz, i guess next time i'm in miami i should leave my def lepoard jeans, wife beater & green mesh hat at home???

btw, when someone says "the crowd was horrendous" i don't think they are referring to the way people are dressing; more like their actions & manners.

you can only dress ghetto up so much...

i've rawk'd out the old & the NEW space in my baby pink pumas, jeans & wife beater. it looked cute and appropriate. this isn't mynt/pearl/delano (you get the picture); it's space...a warehouse club.

i don't feel any less sexy whether i'm in jeans & sneaks, skirt & strappy shoes or lounge pants. it's all ME. i dress according to my mood.

fyi: LACK of attitude is what makes a person goodlooking; not their clothes.

oh & btw, i'm 27 :)

Stacey,

listen sweetpea, I'm not sayin' come tagged up on Armani. If you see me at the club, you'll most likely find me in a pair of comfy, well-worn jeans, a tee from time to time, & my white kicks (sometimes my pumas, just like you) with an occasional hat on a bad hair day (lol).

The point is, my shoes are always shinnin', my shirt is pressed, my jeans fit right & I always feel like a "sexy bitch". Besides, I'm the last person askin' anyone to come decked out. I say come comfortable, yet clean, stylish &/or presentable. I'm sure you can figure out the rest. It's not like we ask you to sport your Prada suit with your Gucci shoes.

Bring your David Lee roth leopard pants if you like & your madonna fish net arm stockings, oh, & don't for get your micheal jackson gloves. But please leave the Nikes @ home, comb the hair, scrub the face, hang the Jersey for a weekend & press your top. You've been clubbin' for sometime now, you should know the drill.

Besides, warehouse or not, Space is still a club. So tell me, what's the real difference between a building like the crobar building & a building like the Space building. I'll tell you one thing, they are both clubs!!

"I'm not your fashion consultant, I just play one on the message boards".

Ps. Those in need of a deeper fashion sense, try watchin' Zoolander, particularly the club/"walkoff" scene in the movie. btw, don't forget the hair gel. You do know what hair gel is, don't you??

space has a more "underground" feeling to it then crobar. open till...24 hr liquor license. yes, there IS a difference. i wouldn't wear my "sunday best" to an "underground" club and i wouldn't wear tracks pants to pearl. i agree w/ you completely tho biz; one should always looks presentable whether you're in jeans & sneaks or dressed. BUT both should be acceptable attire!

was the green mesh hat a bit too much??? ;)

and i owe you a glass of water...

On a serious tip though, I apologize on behalf of Space for those who didn't get to experience it being that you might of gotten turned down due to dress code regulations.

It was opening week & now goin' into our 2nd week, we have a clearer picture of what adjusments we should be makin' in order to serve the public better. It's a new venue, none of us have yet found our niche, so it's a growing process for the time.

On a positive note, I was really pleased to hear such good reviews. Thanks again to @ll those who made it out & BIG thanks to the residents, for doin' an incredible job... :)
