copahc
What kind of holiday is Cinco de Mayo? I don’t know much about it. Doesn’t it have something to do with some Spanish or Mexican war? Because, in the U.S. it seems to just be a drinking holiday. I mean, we don’t really celebrate anything, like on other holidays… we just go to some Mexican restaurant, wear sombreros and drink coronas and margaritas til we pass out. Seems like we just borrowed some other country’s holiday as an excuse to drink. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.So what should I be toasting to tonight when I’m pounding those tequila shots??

georgym
I read in today's newspaper that Cinco de Mayo has no real cultural-historical significance--- just a day fabricated by 2nd and 3rd generation mexicans in the southwest of the U.S. to celebrate for the heck of it.pretty funny
